1989 Ford F 250 - Page 4 Questions & Answers
89 ford f250. I have power to the coil but no power out.
And no spark from the high tension lead? If so, test the coil by pulling off both primary + and -, pull HT lead out. Then check resistance on the + and - terminals, with the ohms function-should be very low ohms, like 0.5-1.5 ohms (check the specifications for your coil). Then check resistance between - terminal and the HT tower-should be in the range of 7,500 ohms to 10,500 ohms-somewhere in there. If way off range, coil is bad. You may need to check with a shop or repair manual for the actual specifications for your coil, but the above ranges are pretty close on most coils.

Oil leak from oil filter housing
Your oil filter is too tight, causing the rubber gasket to tork and not seal,I've done it on my 85 nissan 720.Everytime I do a oil change,I have to make sure I don't over tighten filter.Loosen a little bit, wipe all oil up so you will know if it's fixed. You may have to replace filter if gasket is messed up from overtightening.
