you have a pulley locking up that is breaking belt. with belt off spin pulleys by hand and feel for anything abnormal. wobbles, sticks or bind. due this for all pulleys ran by that belt u will find your problem

It could be many things. I would start with taking the coil packs or ignition coil to autozone or advanced auto to have them checked. Not exactly sure which one that model prob has but I would check that first. If this part is not the culpret it is more likely that your Crankshaft Sensor has went bad. they are not usually very expensive to change but they can be hard to get to. Good luck!

do the pulleys turn freely, are there any notches on them.MAKE SURE THE BELT IS NOT RIDDING AGAISNT ANY THING

best to go to ford dealer and get a copy of the wiring circuit , the only sure way i know, unless you have a work shop manual.

Very Doubtful. As the belt routing is limited to the space in the cover for the timing belt. And there is not much chance to get it wrong. It is POSSIBLE. but not too.

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then isolate cable end with electrical tape or equivalent.
2. Remove air intake system and fuel line mounting bracket.
3. Disconnect throttle cable.
4. Disconnect coolant line from idle air bypass air valve.
5. Disconnect coolant and vacuum lines from throttle body. Mark vacuum lines for installation reference.
6. Disconnect throttle position sensor connector.
7. On models with automatic transaxle, disconnect idle switch connector.
8. Disconnect brake booster vacuum line from back lefthand side of intake manifold.
9. Disconnect EGR temperature sensor connector, if equipped.
10. Disconnect speed control vacuum line from back righthand side of intake manifold.
11. Disconnect EGR solenoid connectors.
12. Remove PCV valve from cylinder head cover.
13. Raise and support vehicle.
14. Remove intake manifold support bracket, then the EGR pipe from intake manifold.
15. Lower vehicle and remove intake manifold attaching bolts and nuts.
16. Remove intake manifold and discard gasket.

Intake Manifold Tightening Sequence

1. Reverse procedure to install. Torque bolts and nuts in sequence to 14-19 ft lb.

You may google it, or you can pick up a haynes or chilton manual for cheap. Alldata and mitchell are great sources, but cost money. Check your local library or college, they may have alldata or mitchell subscribed and free to use. Our library does. Those programs are the same that repair facilities and dealerships use (I also use those).
