Hi, try disconnecting the linkage from the butterfly shaft on the carb. You should be able to turn this shaft thru a quarter turn by hand, and self return by means of the spring. If this is not free it may well be your problem. Is it a twin throat carb? then check that the secondary butterfly is closing fully in the throttle "off" position.
Gas freezing
Hello crlhill59 I hope I can give you helpful information.Gas alone I mean pure gasoline WILL not freeze. If your gas is freezing that can be caused by water in the gas.You can buy several gas treatment products at your local Auto Zone, just go in and tell one of the guy's whats happening and they'll show you the best product for your problem. And just another idea try and use a different gas station.I hope this help you.Be safe and stay warm.Tim
