I'm sure you've checked the fluid level, I would first try bleeding the system to rule out any air pockets. It also could be a fluid bypass situation, especially if the master/slave are old or the cup seals have been exposed to contaminated fluid. The seals can become hardened over time and will not expand along with their respective bore when hot. The cure for that is replacement of the clutch master cylinder and/or slave. The master cylinder is a fairly easy task, but the slave cylinder requires removal of the transmission. Bleeding this system can be frustrating, but you should be able to find plenty of information about the process around the web. Good luck.

I can't find anything on a F-350 crew cab, from 1985. According to www.Edmunds.com there is no such animal. The F-350 crew cab only goes to 1990. It could be an issue of the website not going back that far, too.

Stuck in park

A thought since I didnt see your original problem or any of the solutions supplied to you .I would check the electrical contact with a test light to see if you have 12 volts going to your brake light switch or see if you have brake lights if you have brake lights the brake light switch is fine. I would than check your neutral start switch .Check the connector first for 12 volts if you have no power in connector it will not come out of gear .if power is present switch needs to be tested. If this is at all helpful please leave me good feedback
