have you cleaned the throttle plate? this is done by removing air intake hose and spraying out with cleaner and wiping it down open throttle and wipe off the butterfly and bore. this will usually cure a stumble.

check either your fuel pump or your crank sensor

Well if overdrive light flashes on fords means a pretty bad problem with transmission

Do you have power to the starter when the key or start switch is engaged ?

please start by checking your transmission fluid to see if it is low on fluid. If level is ok, next step would be to service the transmission. change fluid and filter. also check for any codes.
