What is a evap code?
An evap code is a code that lets you know there is a problem with the evaporative emissions system. This system is what collects the fuel vapor from the fuel tank, stores it in the charcoal canister, and then burns it in the engine when the conditions are right. There can be several codes that relate to the evap system and all of them can mean a different problem. Most commonly the gas cap and the vent solenoid are the two most common GM failures.Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll be happy to answer them. Thank you for using FixYa.com! CV joint and/or bearings obvious first guess. You say they are good or did you actually replace already? Check entire front wheel assembly-lug nuts tight?brake caliper/rotor positioned correctly and tight?suspension tight and in good condition?any signs of rubbing indicating abnormal part travel?
What fuse works the temp gauge
All the gauges work off the same circuit, so if the temp gauge is not working then all the gauges should be inop as well if the problem is the power to the gauges.

My windshield wipers just up and quit. They pulse
This can be due to slippage or looseness in the wiper arm fittings or the wiper motor spiral wheel assembly If there is noise when the wipers are put on , then pull up the wipers from the glass and see if they work. If so the nurlings are worn out and a metal shim on the nurlings which can be tightened can solve the issue
Hi carl i had pontiac montana m1999 overheating after i travel like 40 km n all the coolant going back to the reservoir
Hello, if you've changed the pump. cap. and t-stat and its overheating still i need to say that just because you replaced those parts doesnt necissarily mean they work. Im mainly talking about the t-stat and cap. was this your first time installing a tstat? They go in a certain way. Make sure you put it in the right direction. Your vehicles engine might require you to purge your coolant system of all air. On some cars air will remain trapped in the area right at the tstat causing it not to work therefore not opening up and no t circulating the coolant. I would start there myself. If thats not the case, next id flush the radiator. I would like to know what the problem symptoms were wich led yoy to replace those parts please.
I need to replace a serpentine belt on my 1999 poniac montana
Hi Melanie,It is pretty simple except it is a really tight fit that will make you want to throw wrenches.I usually do it without lifting the vehicle and taking the wheel and splash cover off, but some people find it easier to do that way and the service manual says to do it that way. (I use a long tool that I made to fish the belt around all the pullies.Anyway, once you have figured out whether you want to remove the wheel and splash shield or not, all that has to be done is to use a 1/2 inch breaker-bar to rotate the belt tensioner and remove the belt. Then comes all the cussing as you try to get the new belt around all the pullies the correct way. Then you rotate the tensioner once again to get the belt around the last one and PRESTO! you're done!
