You need a scanner or code reader to erase the trouble codes and turn off the check engine light. The security light is usually on because of a problem with the system, usually the chip in the key or the sensor in the lock cylinder.

The security, antitheft, or passlock light is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). Sounds like great advice if you are paying them by the hour.You need spark, fuel to the injectors, and normal compression for the engine to run. One of the three is missing if it dies.If it does not start right back up, someone should be able to narrow down the list of possible causes. If it has spark to the plugs, it could be the fuel pump relay, or the pump. If it does not have spark, you need to find out why.

Hello, this may help,I have a gm product with after market security in it,my batteries went dead and i had to unlock doors with key to boost it,when we hooked up cables now that it had power and every thing was open the computer thought truck was being stolen so it went into lock down and i sat there for two hours trying to boost,it would spin over but not start,,leave the booster cables or battery charger on it,if battery is charged skip that and use your keyless entry to lock doors or lock doors by hand also make sure hood is closed if possible and let sit for about fifteen min then unlock and try to start,also it may be as simple as the nutral safty switch not quite lined up,,try moving shift lever a little or move to nutral and try to start.

I guess my first question is, have you checked the computer for trouble codes ?With water on the engine the problem could be a long list of things including water in a harness connector.Even the plug wires could have been damaged.

this is usually due to the switch wearing out, replace switch or remove switch and put jumper wire straight from 12 volt supply to the high terminal, if you prefer to have high, switch is typically 12 dollars and easy to replace.

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door

Don't do that.
You always access components from underneath, and almost never take out the whole dashboard.
About the only reason I know of would be for heater core replacement in a car with AC, and I don't recommend that for most people.
