usually located on the tailshaft of the transmission, can also be located in the housing of the transmission, on the bell housing and some times manufacturers can use the crankshaft position sensor that is on the engine to determine "transmission speed"

All dashboard lights came on, and sometimes engine dies out!!! Whats going on??? Ford crown victoria 2006 Police interceptor

Most likely, your ECU is failing, it is not getting an adequate ground connection to the chassis, or its connector has corrosion, preventing it from making good contact.

Does anybody know what the oil pressure specs for the 2006 crown victoria lx 4.6L at idle and at normal operating temp? Mine is reading between 15 and 25 psi. Has 149,0000 on it.

15 seems low. Ford gives a spec of 40-70 psi with the engine speed @ 2500 rpm engine hot. Most cars I see are around the 25 psi @ idle. If your idle is lower than it should be it will make your pressure lower. This should be a direct reading on a good mechnical engine oil pressure gauge.

Where could I find the coolant drain plug for the engine block on a 2006 Crown Victoria LX vin W. I'm looking for a good place to install a mechanical temperature gauge?

this are is not a good location for a mechanical temp gauge It is at the bottom of the coolant galley in the block and will be in the sediment that collects in a block hot water rises and where you want it is where the water will be at the hottest ( bottom of the block is the coolest water) so select a point at the thermostat housing or a plug in the head that goes into the water jacket

Ford 2006 Crown Victoria - blows hot air no AC or

Before you start your engine look at the A/C clutch. If you want, put a mark on it with chalk or paint.
Start your car and turn on the A/C, then look under the hood and see if the A/C clutch is turning. It may cycle and try to work. If it does not there is a switch close to the black cylinder where the A/C lines run.

This is the low pressure side of the system. If you remove the connection and put a "U" shaped wire into the harness it will arc and engage the compressor while the engine runs. Do not plug this in with the engine off. If the compressor clutch works then your problem is low pressure or a bad low pressure swtch. If the compressor clutch does not work it is very likely the bad part or you blew a fuse.

If the compressor turns and sounds like a stone crusher your compressor is bad. Now if you have determined the compressor is good, the clutch is good, the fuse is good, you have to diagnose the low pressure.

You will need a gauge. Some cans come with them but they are not always reusable. If you add 1 can of Freon and use the "U" shaped wire where I told you, it will draw in enough to start the refill without the "U" shaped wire. You still need to measure the pressure so you do not overfill the unit. A completely empty system will take about 3 cans.

You can lose the Freon through a leak, there are leakstop chemicals for A/Cs. You may get assistance from Autozone or Oreillys on this matter. Freon usually lasts for years. I have replaced many low pressure switches and had immediate success where it was the ONLY problem.

I have a 2006 ford crown victoria police package model. For some reason my wipers stay running even after I changed out the wiper switch an I checked all relays and fuses. Can anyone help me with this

The problem a bad ground inside the wiper motor . To what is called the break witch makes it come to rest fully down when you turn the switch off . Did you ever notice that if you turn the key off with the wipers on they stop where ever they are on the wind sheild . Its not really that big of a deal and the wipers will still work you just have to time it when you shout off . You could also take the motor apart and solider the wire or a new jump wire and it would work again .Or just get a new or used motor its not that hard to replace.

You may have a shorted relay. Locate the relay and test, replace see what happens. Most relays are the same in the car. To test if its bad, find a similar one and swap them. Problem goes away, bad relay replace it.
