What do you have a bad sensor or bad fuse?

Open the hood and look to your left to the rear at the top of the firewall.You will see a large wire harness going into a computer module.remove the wire harness from the computer and look for corrosion.Clean any corrosion and reinstall harness and waterproof the connection as Ford did not waterproof this connector very well and it can cause all sorts of trouble.

The high pressure filter and fluid are supposed to be changed at 60k intervals. Ford has a very specific oil for this transmission and the service fee will be $300 to $450 - mine was around $420.

No other car place will touch the CVS transmission in a Ford Freestyle and most Ford dealerships are clueless on thier maintenance and repairs. On most issues that crop up the first thing they want to do is swap it out - for $4000+.

as for parts it should be easy to get them nowadays! as winnies dealers are in Qld
id suggest investing in an extra THERMO FAN for the radiator & or a triple core radiator will have you safe n sound!
duel battery,s is a good idea with a solar charger it plugs into your cigarett lighter

grounded wire to the temp sender unit will make it do that however make sure that the car is not running hot as low coolant levels will cause it to happen as well just before it runs hot

You need a manual. I have pulled to many transmissions. Just know what to look for. The first thing you need to do is pull the starter and look at the flywheel. Takes a mirror to see the flywheel. If the teeth are eaten away, you need to pull the transmission to replace it.
