Try using a spray bottle of water on the engine seams when the engine is running. If there is an air leak, it will draw the water into the leak and change the rpm verifying the problem. The lean code 171 means there is more air than normal, generally not that there is less fuel than normal. Some of these engines use Manifold runners and each side has one. They are like shutters and slide open and closed to route air inside the manifold chambers. They can stick and cause some of the problems you have. Also as there is a convenient test port for the fuel pump pressure. It would not hurt to see how the pressure is at the RPM of 40-60mph. Some autoparts stores have tool loaner programs.I would also try to test the engines' role for your shakes by shifting the trans into neutral and allowing the engine to return to base idle. If the shakes continue and do not lose intensity, there are other causes besides the motor. Please rate my info.
Rough idle, rough in drive
Is the check engine light on ?Have you checked the computer for trouble codes ?You could have one bad spark plug even with only 30k on it.Problem could also be a dirty injector.
1998 Ford F150 supercab - passenger side door won't open
Get inside the backseat remove two screws that hold the side window. Gently pull the top plastic panel out all around and the panel will come out. It is held by about six clips. Then remove the screws and a nut off the bottom panel. These are all at the top of the bottom panel. Remove a couple of screws thatholds the inside doorl latch. Once all out then simply lift up on the bottom panel and it will come out. Remove the plastic sheet that overs the side door underneath the panel. Now you can see the whole mechanisim for the unlatch. On my truck the problem was with the top cable going into the latch mechanisim. The top cable came loose, out of the slot that held it in place. I pit it back into the slot and made a metal clip to keep it in place. If your interested I can add picture of the clip. Reassembled the door and was done in about three hours.
I have a bad miss in a 97 4.6
If you have a code for a miss on one cylinder, it could be the fuel injector instead of the ignition. It could also be a stuck or burnt valve problem.
