What does running rich mean? and is it an expensive fix?
The motor runs on a mixture of fuel and air. If the mixture is wrong it's not running at maximum efficiency and in some cases can be bad for the engine. When there's too much fuel in the mix it's called running rich, too little fuel/or too much air then it's called running lean. There are a few reasons why an engine will be providing a wrong mix so it's best to get it professionally diagnosed, that's cheaper in the long run than a new motor. Most likely to be something simple like a dirty air filter but could be broken injectors or faulty ECU.

How do you stop your truck from overheating?
check the rad hoses for leaks, then replace hose, if no joy break some eggs in the cooler container and for a while it will be okay, if the same problem repeats, replace the radiator, if still no joy, you may have to strip the head off and replace the gasket and put it back together, yeah i know what a pain it all is, been there myself, good luck, hope this helps

Rear washer does not work front ok
The '97 Explorer XLT I owned had a widow washer reservoir (cap) that is visible only when you open the rear lift gate up. Just below window height on the..umm.. driver's side (if not - check the passenger side). Locate it and fill it with fluid.. as I recall my '97 held nearly a gallon.
