Check the park light fuse before you condemn the headlight switch. Does the dome light come on when door is opened? Can you use the dome light switch on the dash to turn it on and off as well?

I tied to start my 1998 ford Taurus and all it did was honk the horn once

Security problem. It has to be scanned to see which part is wrong. Keys are the most expensive part. Takes two of them and programming. $100 to $150.

I have a1998 Ford Taurus that has a transmission that is pouring fluid out of the bell housing. When it gets to running temperature, it pours fluid out even after the car is shut off. Can I ask you wh

Looks like it may have too much fluid inside. But, it also has to have a loose fill bolt, if manual transmission, or dip stick if automatic, or the drain bolt is loose. Have someone check to see which problem it is, and check the proper oil level and tighten the plugs.

I ran out of gas and refueled now car won't start.

when u run the gas tank empty it severly overheats the electric fuel pump inside the gas tank, this tiny pump depends solely on the fuel flowing around and through it to lubricate and cool it so it won't overheat, you have seized up the fuel pump, u can let it cool for an hour and make sure the pump is totaly immersed in fuel before retrying that means u must put in at least 5 gallons of gas.

Where is the thermostat

Follow the upper radiator hose down to engine. It should lead you to the thermostat housing. I've seen it in other locations on other cars but I'm pretty sure that's where it is on a Taurus.

How difficult is it to replace pin within steering column that controls the gear shaft in a 98 Ford Taurus?

You should not attempt this fix unless you have been a mechanic long enough to have someone hands on to teach you. You have to disconnect the air bag. Remove the steering wheel. There is a cover over the steering column that contains the wiring for the turn signals. That complex bunch of wires and switches has to be removed. After removing the flange that covers the shaft and removing the shift lever. the pin will be exposed. I have many years of mechanical work and would take it to a shop that specializes in Ford products. One of the best reference sources to find someone who can do the work is a used car dealer.

Water pump

To remove water pump loosen serpentine belt with a 3/8 breaker bar and set out of the way remove the 4 nuts on the pump housing and the 3 bracket bolts along with the upper and lower radiator hoses the small heater hose. The lower nuts can be reached thru the wheel well. Remove the allen bolts that hold the pump in the housing clean gasket area and replace. You may need to double nut a couple of the housing studs and remove for room on the housing

Do I have to pull out the Fuel Tank to change fuel pump in a 1998 ford taurus

The fuel pump is inside the tank, so pulling the tank is a reasonable way to get to it. You may be able to pull it from the top of the tank without pulling the entire tank, depends on how they put it in. I honestly don't remember pulling the tank on mine when the pump went bad.
