My 1998 ford explorer driver side power window will not roll back up! :-(
From your description it sounds like the motor is drawing too many amps and a circuit breaker is opening (to protect the motor). That could be from one of two things: a failing motor or a bad set of gears or some other hindrance that is causing the motor to work too hard. Auto circuit breakers generally reset themselves after everything cools down. Since it happened on more than one window it could also be that the circuit breakers are getting old and less reliable meaning that they will continue to fail more often. The symptoms do not suggest a broken wire

1998 ford 4.0 sohc v6 explorer sport 4wd. 148000
hi, as far as i can remember its impossible to do the work without removing the whole lot as you just have not got enough room to get the tools in to get the job done, you could contact your nearest main dealers technical department but im pretty sure that the last one we did here we had to take the whole lot out as we could not get the tools in as their just isnt enough room they build these engine big enough to fill the engine bay leaving you no room to carry out these type of repairs so taking the engine out is the only way your going to get this work carried out.
Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok.
Make sure you purchase a workshop manual as this will give you all the correct settings your going to need ok

What does the fuel reset indicator stands for? Ford explorer 98
Hey Carlos , does your vehicle run ?
Fuel Reset
The FUEL RESET indicator is grounded through the inertia switch whenever the vehicle is subjected to a high force situation. The inertia fuel shutoff switch (IFS switch) (9341) cuts off the fuel pump motor. The FUEL RESET indicator illuminates when the IFS switch has been tripped.

I have a 1998 Ford Explorer the radio doesn't work is it because the switch is broke in the steering wheel if so what do I do to fix it
no first check the fuse/s for the radio & power amp if equipped you can download your owners manual by Google search at 1998 ford explore owners manual on to your phone/computer then go to roadside emergencies and the fuse box diagram/power distribution box fuse diagrams are there now after checking the fuse's if all are good the push button switch that turns on the radio may have gone bad even if you here it click when you push it in it could still be bad if you don't here the click then it's a definite on/off switch problem anyway take out the radio and take off the top cover to get to the switch it may have a broken wire that's causing the problem in any event you'll have to go to an electronics alarm radio store or the dealer for the switch I couldn't find a picture for you but if you have a u pull it yard near you take the switch or the whole radio if you want don't waste your time at radio shack or any other store like them they won't have it
