Start with the vacuum hoses on the motor, this will do this. the vacuum hoses are rubber hoses three quarter inch in diameter on down to real small hoses and can be located anywhere on the motor or under the hood. Look for a hose off, cracked, broken, or loose at a connector.

you obviously have a leak. try running with the radiator cap on 1st click so it doesn't build pressure. If it quits leaking, you probably need a radiator. 1800 radiator seems to have the best prices on quality parts.

How do I Remove the heater hose from the rear of the engine on a 1998 Ford Expediton?

Sounds like you are talking about the hose that goes to the heater. It has a snap spring clamp on it. You will be able to handle it better if you buy a new hose and cut the old one off. A small curved needle nose plier or straight plier may help. Then put the old clamps onto the hose higher up and slide them in place once the hose is mounted. Do the hard to reach end first(using the hose length to grip onto) and clamp it, then attach the last end.

Replace rear brake line 98 ford expedition

you will have to get a line wrench and take out the old line. the parts store only sells straight line so you will have to bend it as close to the original as you can. be sure to buy the tool that will help bend the line without kinking it.

Why does my 98 expedition make a pinging noise at 25 to 35 mph then goes away

this noise is detonation. It is an uncontrolled untimed ignition from hot spots in the combustion chamber igniting an incorrect air/fuel mixture. IT is harmful if left un repaired as it has the capability of melting holes in pistons.. Run the fault codes or check /change the air/ fuel mixture settings and ignition timing of the engine . Most engines run around 10-12 degrees advanced and any more than that will help cause the problem, as the spark occurs too early and the extra pressure built up by the combustion will combust the rest of the mixture in the cylinder. Fuel quality is important so if you are using a standard grade fuel( 89-91 octane rated) fill with a premium fuel with a higher fuel octane rating . Give a miss to E- fuel mixtures

1998 ford expedtion running hot and will not hold antifreeze

A number of things. Check the hoses for cracks or leaks especially around thermostat housing. Look for green coloring. Also check radiator by looking underneath engine. Best way to check is by running the SUV. Make sure you put water in radiator and secure cap to pressurize the system. One other place to look for leaks is the overflow tank.

Where is the fuse for my alarm on my 1998 ford expedition

Yes the PATS (Passive Anti Theft Sytem) will disable your fuel pump. If you have a second key try that first, in case it is the chip in the first one.

How to test a ignition coil

There are two choices. One-take your vehicle to Advanced Auto or any other parts store and have them hook it up to their hand held tester that will tell you if anything is showing up as defective. If so, then you can replace them yourself. Second-Take it to the auto dealer and have them check it, but this way will cost you.

How can I repair my 1998 ford expedition's computer

Best thing to do is replace it. You can try getting one from a Pull-A-Part or junk yard reasonable or order one from a parts store but they are very expensive and you really need to know how to do it correctly. Otherwise you could damage other components. When it comes to car computers, the best advice is take it to your dealer and let them install it and reset it.
