MAP sensor

I've got a 97 F350 with a 460 that is giving me heartache. Acts like a bad MAP sensor (black smoke, timing retarded, poor power) but it has a mass air flow sensor. Is it true that if a car has a mass it will not have a map sensor? I think it is an ignition problem though because I have put several new coils on recently. Seems to be burning them up. It is to the point now where a new coil doesn't help. Disrtributer module maybe? Any ideas would be much appreciated.

My info says for 7.5L
federal emissions has a map sensor, no maf.
California emissions has a maf sensor, no map.
Some fords if you suspect maf sensor problem, everything off, unplug it, then start the vehicle take it for a drive. If it runs better check for a problem with the maf system. sensor--wiring circuits--computer, whatever.
Are there any applicable trouble codes? How long since a tune-up?

there is a speed sensor on the top of the rear differential. either the sensor is bad or it has become unplugged. when the truck doesnt know how fast it is going, the trans goes into "limp mode" to protect itself...whic causes it to shift hard and if u look you'll notice the o/d light is blinking

remove fuel pump from 97 powerstroke

how do i do this what tools do i need

Remove the plumbing that hooks the turbo to the intake make sure not to loose the square cut oring that hooks to the turbo on th y pipe. Remove the fuel filter housing there should be 3 or 4 fuel lines that need removed. Then there will be a icp solenoid that needs the connector removed. And I think one plug that hooks all the wiring on the fuel housing to the main harness. There will be 2 13mm bolts holding the housing down to the engine. You should be able to wiggle the housing and slide it forward some make sure you get some new fuel lines while your doing this as well I think its 3/8 fuel line make sure you cut them same length as original. Go ahead and get new clamps. Once you got the fuel filter housing out the way you can get to the bolts on the fuel pump. I used to take a cutting disk to the turbo pedistal but I ended up taking a wrench I think its like 1 1/4 wrench (not for sure) I took the wrench and cut it in half. Grinded the box end for clearance then heated it up and bent it. You then loosen that large banjo bolt on back of the fuel pump take care not to loose the two sealing washers I usually just slide to bolt back and leave it there. Then take the 2 bolts loose that bolt it to the block. Take a heal bar and pop it up. When reinstalling the pump if you cant get to bolts over cause the cam is holding the pump up you may need to turn the motor over so it slides down easier. Then start the 2 bolts leave em loose so that you can start the big banjo bolt. The put you new fuel lines on the fuel filter housing with new clamps reinstall that hook up the electrical connections. When you get ready to put the y pipe on make sure and use some brake clean to wipeout the residue on the orange rubber hoses. You may need to add some grease or vaseline to hold the square cut oring on the turbo then reinstall the y pipe. Sit back look it over make sure its hooked up good give it a start and then verify no fuel leaks. You will need a long flat blade screw driver to get to some of the clamps.

Ford F350 Crew Cab Power Window Problem

My back windows wont work. Ive replaced the back window motors and the control switch on the drivers door and still nothing. any ideas?

Did you check for power at the switches. Are you sure the fuses are ok. Sometimes the wires break because of opening the door. You will have to inspect the harness and maybe have to remove the door panel. Most likely its a driver door wiring issue or the fuse.

tail light wiring connectors and wiring diagram

I need the tail light wiring connectors and wiring diagram .trailer receptacle. trying to hook up tail lights to a custom bed. There are 4 connectors near the rear frame. 1 coming down left frame rail. 2 connectors that seem to be feeding a 7 pin trailer connector. Which color wire for left right turn signals, tail light, brake light etc.

A test light checking each connector would be faster and easier to do. Maybe somebody may have a illustration for you but by far a simple test light is all you need with a helper turning on the different lights as you check them out and writing all your findings down
