Code p0171,p1407

Firstly block off the EGR with a coca cola can somehow its not necessary ,as for the lean on one bank then read the OBDII with a code reader and with the engine running read the and compare the O2 values ,it may just be a defective sensor on that bank and as its a 96 then it might only have one O2 sensor and not two ,well either way the lean reading is the O2 sensor for sure but which one if two are fitted which it could well have as its a american market vehicle

Temp Gauge working but not completely

There are two things it could be. Either you have a bad/ wrong temperature sender or the actual gauge in the dash is bad. Oh, there is one more possibility, this is a very low voltage DC system. If your connections in the wiring repair are not the very best, absolutely tight and making good contact, then you will get erroneous readings.

Don't know how all that checking took placeor why you don't know if both motors are workingI work from factory wiring diagram books, I buy for all my vehicles You look at diagrams of the exact product your troubleshootingHow would you know anything at all without reference material?Where would you put your volt meter test leads without a print& a point on it you chose to start your voltage drops.I would say in most cases the door panels have to come off,to test switches & motors all within a reasonable time frameJust walk the wiring diagram from the fuseYou either have battery voltage or you don'tOnce the door panels come off you unplug & power the motors direct to the battery, with a circuitbreaker you install in your made up test wiring, whichobviously has to be 12 feet long.

CODE P1405

Check the hoses to the DPFE sensor from the exhaust pipe, the sensor is near the EGR valve, if the hoses are ok then replace the sensor, careful not to tear the special heat resistant silicone rubber hoses, they are about $10 each and ordinary rubber hose will burn up.
