Adding water to a 1996 ford contour
Check the level of the coolant in the reservoir at least once a month. Be sure to read and understand precautions when servicing your vehicle
in this chapter. If the engine coolant has not been
checked for a long period of time,
the engine coolant reservoir may
eventually empty. If this occurs,
add engine coolant to the coolant reservoir. For more information refer to
Adding engine coolantin this chapter.
Automotive fluids are not interchangeable; do not use engine
coolant, antifreeze or windshield
washer fluid outside its specified
function and vehicle
location.
Check page 169 from
Ford-Contour-Owners-Manual for other details.
Hope helps (remember comment andf rated this).

Ignition switch won't click even with new battery
Find the Iginition relay or coil, and check all fuses and connections, and buy check i mean dont just jiggle them, apart and spary some dw 40 or electric greese in them, but the first thing you should do, is find the location of the fuel relay, then check the connections on it, relays dont fail, the coneting rods fail. But if there is another electrical problem , you could always crack the relay oper carfully with a screw driver and manually make the connection your self. the only thing that is in there is a little electromagnetic switch , you could push it on with your finger.

Ford countour battery dead and shift into netral
If all else fails, try locating a parking lock override button or hole near the shifter. Most vehichles now have them, except for those with shift knobs located on the steering column, which should release simply by holding the break all the way while turning the key to the "run" position. If you need to located the unlock button, I'll include some pictures of the override button location on my van as an example to know what to look for.1. locate the hole.2. Remove the cover/plug if present.3. Insert a narrow object such as a car key.4. Hold brake down.5. Press inward and hold with one hand, while using the other hand to shift out of park.(On some cars, the ignition switch has to be in the "run" position to move the shifter, so best to use a different key or a screwdriver to insert into the shift release hole/button.)

Engine cooling fan won't come
The electric cooling fan is not needed while the car is driving down the road. Air is being forced through the radiator and provides enough air flow to cool the system properly. The only time the cooling fan is required is when the A/C is in use or the coolant system temperature has reached 225F.

Problem with our 1998 Ford
If the motor is running then the fuse shouldnt be the problem, iv had problems in the past where the tensioning spring that keeps the blade against the window is too tight and has seized the wiper, turn on the wipers and lift the wipers gently and drop them back into place a few times, a few gentle nudges wont hurt,
Hope this helps,
Sion.

Fired then stopped.will not start
Cars need three things to run:
Spark
Compression
Fuel
All of these have to happen at the right time. If the engine is rotating normally during cranking, spray some starter fluid into the intake to see if the engine will run on the fluid. If not, then do a spark test. Spark testers are cheap and can be found at part stores. If the car has spark, then do a compression test. If compression is low on all cylinders then you probably need a timing belt. If compression is normal and you have spark, then you have a fuel issue and probably need a fuel pump. If you have no spark, check all of the fuses under the hood and inside the car.
