1990 Ford F250 automatic dumped all transmission
Depends on where the actual puddle is at if it was towards the front of the truck you may want to check for a broken transmission cooler line. If it was towards the rear check the rear seal of the transmission. There is also a front pump seal that could be the problem check between the trans and engine where they mount together and see if its not leaking there if it is then it would be the front pump seal.
Truck running funny sometimes and other times running perfect.
It sounds like you really take care of your truck,But being that it is a 1990 with the mileage you stated,The only thing that comes to mind about your problem,
Is the rubber "O" rings that seal the injectors,They are probably not soft anymore and that might be where your smell is coming from.this could also be your light miss or chug too,But if you do check them for hardness, really check the injectors over before you reinstall them, check the screen on the bottom to see if any rust particles are trapped in there from the fuel tank and lines.
1990 F250 4X4 STANDARD TRANS 351 ENGINE ... ENGINE
zip the truck down to the exhaust place and get them to inspect your catalatic converter, it may be hammered. Take it then to a trnasmission place and ask them to check the kickdown solonoids. {trans service may help} check to see that the vaccuum hoses are all free and not clogged, a cheap fix would be to buy a $8 bottle of injector cleaner and see how you go. Good luck
What are the torque specs for the pinion nut and
Most pinion nuts don't have a published torque spec. they are to be tightened until the pinion requires a specified torque to spin with the wheels and brake drums removed. Often times, when a rebuild is not performed, it should be torqued to the same preload as before the work. autozone.com has alot of good repair info and diagrams.
My truck ran for about 1/2 minute then quit,
sounds like a fuel pump has gone bad on you. turn your key but dont try to start. Have someone liste by your fuel tank and see if they hear a humming sound. If they do then your pump is ok. you can change your fuel filter at this point because it may be clogged.
97 F350 diesel check engine light stays on and is running rough?
Ok, lets take this from the top. I have a 97 f250 diesel. In mid may mine did the same thing. It's either one of two things. You have under valve cover harnesses (uvc). They slide in under your valve covers, you will see two wiring harnesses on the outside of the valve cover gaskets on either side of the block. Ok, it IS possible one of these slipped out of place and killed two of your injectors, causing the horrible running/ low idle/no power/ sounds like the truck is going to stall symptoms. The easiest way to check that is to unplug the wires while the truck is running and see if it kills the engine, if it doesen't unplug the other one on the same side of the valve cover. If both of these don't cause any change then you have a bigger problem, the IDM (Injector drive module).
FAIR WARNING: When you unplug the wires with the truck on it is extremely dangerous, it is 110 volt feed. It can kill you.
OK, the IDM is a silver box, 8"x10" approx dimensions, located on the driver side under the hood, over top the front tire. If you take the wires you unplugged and take a multi meter to them and they are dead, you have a bad IDM. This was the case with my truck. Ford designed the IDM to have a hole in the side to allow condensation to escape from it, unfortunately, this allows water inside and will short out resistors and practically kill half of your engine. Buy a new IDM on ebay for about $380. It takes 5 minuts to put it in.
I hope this helps you out man.
