What part of ecm controls keep alive memory

1988 Dodge Dakota are you sure this is the car? 1988? this car had 5 different engine options and ECU. to match them. the PCM (or old ECU) has 1 pin, that is called memory. this pin is hot at all time, battery not dead, or disconnected. its not like todays car, which have complex learn modes, this is 88 year , the first years of EFI (usa cars) why not ask the question from a symptom perspective or state the concern. This memory stores the DTC errors, and short and long term fuel trim. nothing complex here. just basics. now ill answer from inside the ECU. the chip that does this is CMOS, NV RAM. it is a memory chip. (off the shelf) and is held at 12vdc key off by a single external pin. login to ALLDATA.com see 2.5L see pin A41 , that is the memory pin. a red wire. if not 2.5L then please say what you have (under dah, hood) and what is wrong.? "symptoms"

1991 olds location fuse for memory power/no back up power radio & ac control

now its not a 1988 but a 1091 olds, and not a Dakota. im totally gobsmacked. what is it, below is Dakota answer if it is an Olds what model car , what engine? ok , the posts come out of order, i answered your first post with a question, and he it is the memory fuse. what engine? 2.2 L (134 cu in) K I4 2.5 L (150 cu in) K I4 2.5 L (150 cu in) AMC I4 3.9 L (238 cu in) LA/Magnum V6 5.2 L (318 cu in) LA/Magnum V8 the 2.5 ECU memory pin as pin A41 red wire and goes to the battery via the main FUSE LINK. i looked at the schematic for the other engine, same link....... id bet dollars to donuts its not bad. there are 3 links, one for Altenator, (is it dead) one for A/C and heater blower, is it dead, and one to drive the input to the ignition swich the ignition goes dead, if that red wire is dead. so is A41, not at 12v at all times. my guess, is you posted to Dodge forum ,why do that? post to OLDS. with engine size and correct year and model OLDS> there are 10 Oldsmobile models, name just 1. like Delta 88?

Why has my truck suddenly gotten louder while moving and back to normal when I stop?

You might be able to place the truck's rear end on Jack stands. Then put in gear with the brake off. So the rear wheels can spin, while some walks around the truck to help isolate the sound. Once you have a closer area to listen to isolated. A trick to isolate more is to use some thing like a wooden rod and place it on ect. the engine on one end and the other end to your ear. Move it around til the sound is the loudest. If you have a stick shift you can use the gear shift to listen to the trans. while some else is driving as well.

My 89 camaro 5.0 TBI starts and idles good. It will not accelerate and acts like its starving for gas. There are no codes showing up.

Check your repair manual for ECM voltage and signals! There is no communicatiin between the the ECM advance and the engine beyond idle..........
