Remove steering wheel on 85 dodge diplomat
Disconnect the negative battery terminal. Remove the horn pad on the steering wheel-Phillips head screws from the back side of wheel. Then loosen the nut on the steering wheel center. Mark the steering wheel to column shaft position, so the wheel goes back in exact same position on the shaft. You may need a steering wheel puller to get the wheel off the shaft, not always, but sometimes the wheel is on pretty tight. Do not hammer on the wheel to get it off, use a puller if needed. These pullers are at parts stores and not expensive.

Heat door
Doors also can be jammed by objects that
have been placed on the dash and have disappeared down the defroster
ducts. The cure here is to extract the object from the plenum by fishing
through the heater outlet with a coat hanger or magnet - or removing
the plenumGod bless you

Everytime i start it, it spits out black smoke
This problem is caused by bad electric choke, or improperly adjusted choke. The Electronic Fuel Control system, as well as EGR, don't come into play until the thing's warmed up. Check the electric choke and its adjustment, also check the choke control on the right rear of the intake, and the charge temp sensor adjacent to the choke control, just in front of the distributor.

I`m changing ring and pinion
Unfortunately you're going to need an experienced differential mechanic to set up the new gears. The end play and gear backlash must be within thousandths of an inch or at best you'll have a noisy whining gear set, and at worst it'll destroy the gears in no time.

Car doesn't run great but
Make sure your coolant level is full first. Next, change your coolant sensor. It is located near the thermostat housing. When this condition happens 9 out of 10 times it's the coolant sensor malfunction or low coolant level! Good luck!

My cruise control doesnt work any suggestions?
Make sure it's on before pressing the cruise control button.
If it's on, then check the vacuum control for the cruise control, and verify the cable is intact.
Check the wires and connections to the electronic module for the cruise control.
Is the speedometer cable operating the speedometer correctly, if so equipped?
I hope this helps.

Stalls when gas is stepped on
Check timing and then look to the carburetor (a carb rebuild may be in order). Sometimes the distributor can get loose and slip and can also cause this behavior. Distributor could use a rebuild if it hasn't been.

you should pick up a manual for your car as it will have the information you will need and diagrams for other work you would like to do to it.
