That little plug keeps the fluid from splashing up and running out of the cylinder. Just pour the fluid on top of the rubber cover and the height of the plug indicates the level of the fluid.

electric locking is controlled from the drivers door locking module, so there are a couple of things it could be, a loose connection on the module not sending signal to other doors, module is worn out and doesnt move the required distance to open/close, given you hear a faint click i'd say the module needs replacing, but obviously have it checked first

You can find directions for resetting the monitors on line, there are about 10 steps to reset and must be done in order and for specific times. Follow the directions and you'll be fine.
