Pressure wash the engine and then locate the source of the oil leak.

From what you say i think you are correct in saying it is a connection problem, Remove the cluster and check wiring to cluster. make sure pins are good, you may need to bend pins to make them tight when you connect the connector to cluster.

Have you had your alternator checked ?If there is no charging from the alternator the "problem" will be solved as long as the new battery retaing its voltage. As soon as you start to use power you drain the battery. it's a bit like putting air into a punchured tyre ..... its still punchured . Could be your original problem ! ! Good luck

alright my friend i will tell u what u need to do- buy a/c manifold guge- vacumn pump for the a.c sytemu will never be able to diagnose a system wit one guage- u alwys need two guages to diagnose system. the MANIFOLD! harbor freight these two units are cheap there.go to a shop have the refrigerent vacumned into a tank so the freon isnt ust flying in the air.]then you dont do neything to the whole a/c system keep it how it is. .hook up ur manifold first. high side low side ports.when u r doing this make sure those knobs on that manifold r closed. then u hook up the yellow lkine to the pump.put a vacumn on it for an hour to draw out all the crappy moisture atmosphere air etc... i forgot to say after all hoses r connected corecctly and tightened down you can now open up both those knobs. blue and red..turn pump on pull vacumn for a hour atleast 45 min. then turn pump off whatch the guages for 15 min. see if they hold the vacumn if not and that needle starts moving up . u have a leak.find and fix.repeat the proccess i just said. then enter refrigerebt 28 0z. for your system your clutch will not kick on until there is a proper amount of pressure in the system. get about 24-25oz in there see what happens .... .let me remind u everytime u open ur system reciever dryer must be replaced. ans you also need 4oz. of 46 peg oil. email me for any troubles. drobdog@gmail

If the battery was hooked up backwards, you may have blown a major fuse.

Hi Gregory, take the vehicle for a diagnostic scan. I am not very sure what question you're asking. I believe that you may be reporting that code 4 and 15 are reporting faults. If there are no fault codes the scanner will report 'No fault code" If it shows the two you report, a fault has occurred in those two areas. Regards John

im having the same problem on a 1994 jetta 2.0 liter gas car. if you put the key in passenger door and hold the key in lock position for 30 seconds with all doors and trunk lid and hood shut it will reset the alarm system. sometimes open trunk after doing this and shuting it again will reset the system. I did this and the car started and shut it off and wouldnt start agian until i went through the process again. weird and frustrating. still working on the problem.
