I have a passat 2003 W8, the CE light came on with code p0481, cooling fan 2 control mode, but the fans are on and the temp are good, the only difference the AC no function correctly, what can i do

Assuming you have a manual transmission, it seems the synchronizer rings for third gear are worn. To correct, transmission must be rebuilt or replaced.

The ASL light is on in my 2005 Volkswagen Passat. What could be the problem?

Does yours have an automatic gearbox? ASL refers to the Auto Select Lever. You need to take the car to a gearbox specialist. There is a switch on auto boxes that prevents an it from going into gear if the brake pedal is NOT pressed. This switch could be faulty. Get it checked anyway as it could jump into or out of gear accidentally.
