Overfilling will not lock-up the engine. There is probably another cause for the engine to be locked-up. A starter can be locked against the flywheel. The engine oil can be contaminated or broken down causing bearing failure. Excessive fuel in cylinders can lock an engine. Hope this helps :)

Getting a code reading saying MAF or VAF circuit

First thing to try - open your hood and look near your air filter. In between your air filter and your engine there will be a few electrical plugs. One will be your VAF or MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor). Check to make sure that the electrical plugs are on good. Don't be afraid to give them a little pull, and push them on tightly. If this does not fix it, check out the video below. It's for a Jeep, but your car may be a similar procedure. It tells you how to clean the sensor. I put some more technical information about how a MAF sensor works below, in case you are interested. Warning - technical information ahead! The mass air flow (MAF) sensor is an air flow meter that measures the amount of air entering the engine. The powertrain control module (PCM) uses the MAF sensor frequency signal in order to provide the correct fuel delivery for a wide range of engine speeds and loads. A small quantity of air entering the engine indicates a deceleration or idle. A large quantity of air entering the engine indicates an acceleration or high load condition. The MAF sensor has an ignition 1 voltage circuit, a ground circuit and a signal circuit. The PCM applies a voltage to the sensor on the signal circuit. The sensor uses the voltage in order to produce a frequency based on inlet air flow through the sensor bore. The frequency varies within a range of around 2,000 Hertz at idle to about 10,000 Hertz at maximum engine load. DTC P0103 sets if the PCM detects a frequency signal higher than the possible range of a properly operating MAF sensor. car dud

Car wont stay running

Has the vehicle been tuned up within the last five years? Is the 'check engine' on ? It may just need a tune up. Have the vehicle scanned for trouble codes which will help identify the problem. Auto Zone and Advance Auto will do a scan. Once you have the codes , they may be looked up on the web. Just do a search for whatever code comes up. This will provide info on where or what part of the operating system needs to be looked at.
