Where is the fuel filter location for a 1996 crown victoria

It's front of the driver's rear tire, usually. If not,it'll be on the other side of the car. Turn off the key and remove. Open hood and release fuel pressure at the rail with the schrader type valve. Don't use a bulb type trouble light under there as it can ignite gas easily. Pry off the old clips after loosening the hold-down clamp. Turn head away as you slide off the hose on the tank side of filter. Install new filter in holder, attach hoses and install new clips then tighten hold-down clamp. (:^) don-ohio

Hi, I'm getting codes 136

I wouldn't worry about the 02 code it will clear when you replace the coils. to be positive that the coils are bad, swap them with another cylinder and see if that cylinder misfires. 90% of the time it's the coil. Let me know

What method is used to check the crank sensor to

  • Yea, you can test it. Put your multi-mater to Ohms and put the leads on the sensor. You should have around 700-900 Ohms and this is good.
  • test the output Voltage of the sensor by putting your mater on Voltage AC and (with the leads on the same way) Now crank the engine over (it won't start because the sensor is disconnected) and look for a reading over 200mV

  • That's how your test your Crankshaft Position Sensor.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

starting fluid is a thing of the past. dont use it. this car doesnt have a carb, its a throttle body/ electronic fuel injection system. you most likely have a fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator issue. test the fuel pressure, should be anywheres from 35-50 psi

My car vibrates,but dont when

this means that your idle when the aircon is off is very low. basically there are 2 adjustments for idle: engine idle and aircon idle. just try to locate this screws in your engine. set the engine idle at 700-800rpm, while the aircon idle at 900-1000rpm.
