If too much oil is put in your car will it make it smoke under the hood

It should only smoke if oil was spilled under the hood. I would still recommend draining some oil out if it is way overfill.

2002 Dodge intrepid se engine

If this vehicle has a chain, they generally NEVER break. Apparently the person who is working on it doesn't know what he's doing. The chain has several chain guides and a tensioner. Chances are one of those is causing the chain to jump a few links. Let me know how you make out. Reach me at [email protected]

What can I do to turn off oil light after an oil change?

If you have the 2.7L engine there is a technical service bulletin about that. Have someone with the proper equipment test the oil pressure. If it is within specification, a terminal/wire/vent p/n 05017800AA may need to be added to the oil pressure switch connector in place of the sealing dart. Locked up steering wheel

I think your steering wheel may have been under tension when you parked it. It happens to everyone. Try turning the wheel the direction that it will move and turn the key with foot on brake to disengage the locking mechanism. If this doesn't work, reply back to this post and I'll help you further...MK

2002 dodge intrepid the heat blows but doesn't get hot! Had the thermostat replaced but still no heat. What would be the problem?

either a heat switch is not switching heat to the compartment or else the thermostat in the cooling system is defective. when it is not open it does not let hot water to the internal heating system, has your engine been overheating or running hot? also as this would be a symtom.

I have a 2002 dodge intrepid cranks but no spark.changed cam shaft sensor and crank sensor., all new plugs but still no spark....please help ..thanks

Hi Leroy, Im glad to help! Here's a couple things you can try. First, swap the ASD Relay with one of the same type relays in the relay box. If it still doesn't start check every fuse. If it still doesn't start check power and ground at the "COIL PACK" If power and ground are good Replace the Coils Pack. If there is no power and ground at the coil pack then make certain you are getting power from the ignition switch to the ASD Relay. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Leroy.

How do i purge cooling system for 3.5 intrepid 2002?

Start by repeatedly squeezing all of the coolant hoses you can access. While doing this you should see bubbles coming up through the radiator cap opening. After doing this for awhile, top up the coolant and drive for a bit. After the car cools down you may want to repeat the process. Keep checking it for awhile as properly "burping" a coolant system can be a pain and take awhile. You know you're done when there is no more air at the top of the rad cap after driving (and letting it cool down)

I have a 2002 Dodge Intrepid with a code of odb480

This is a generic powertrain diagnostic trouble code (DTC), which means it covers all makes/models, 1996-newer. However, specific troubleshooting steps will vary depending your vehicle. pulling the code P0480 displayed, if refers to the engine cooling fan circuit. It is a generic code applying to all OBD II (on board diagnostics) vehicles. The PCM (powertrain control module) senses the increase in engine temperature through the CTS (coolant temperature sensor) located near the thermostat. When the temperature reaches about 223-degrees F (value depends on make/model/engine), the PCM will command the cooling fan relay to turn on the fan. It does so by supplying the ground to the relay. There is a problem within this circuit causing the fan to fail to operate allowing the engine to overheat while sitting still or driving at a slow speed. When the PCM attempts to activate the fan and senses the command and the result do not match, the code is set. Symptoms may include:
  • Check engine light (malfunction indicator lamp) illumination and code P0480 set
  • Engine temperature will rise when the vehicle stops and idles
Potential Causes The causes for this DTC may include:
  • Faulty fan control relay 1
  • Fan control relay harness is open or shorted
  • Circuit electrical connections poor
  • Faulty cooling fan 1
  • Faulty coolant temperature sensor
  • Fan cooling fan harness is open or shorted
  • Cooling fan circuit poor electrical connection. hope this helps you.

I have a 2002 dodge intrepid with no spark I replaced camshaft sensor and crank sensor still no spark..all new plugs put in still no spark please help thanks

Look for any damaged wiring to your primary emission control sensors. Appears you have lost you 5 volt supply to the ignition circuit. Any check engine lights on? Have you reset Computer? If not disconnect - battery terminal for 30mins or more.

Free downloadable manuals?

Only the owners manual-- is free on the internet Auto Zone web site & some other places have free-- whatever ----IF ----your asking about actual repair/service manuals, wiring diagrams & something of some value, you can actually use Then ONLY the original Factory Manuals or CD's-- is what you want Anything free or those Haynes manuals- will not be close to what your vehicle has, their cheap & too generic
