When facing the engine compartment, the pcv valve will be located on the right end of the valve cover. It threads into the cover and will have a rubber hose attached also.

Any further problems, give me a shout.

The problem is broken solder connections on the instrument panel circuit board. Now here's how to fix it: Lift up & remove dash pad/gauge cluster trim. Remove 4 phillips screws to remove gauge cluster. Turn gauge cluster over, remove 6 T15 Torx screws, & remove black paper. Remove 5 more T15 screws for the circuit board & 4 T15 screws at the wiring harness connectors. Disconnect the gray odometer cable; just push in the little pin and slide it out. After all the screws are out, gently lift up on the circuit board; you may need to lift up on one side at a time. BE VERY CAREFUL! After you remove the circuit board, flip it over (you will see the dash lights). There are two areas with 10 soldered pins (two rows of 5 pins) & a black dot above & below it. If you look at these pins closely, you may see the broken solder. Apply heat from a soldering iron to these pins; you shouldn't have to add more solder, but you may. As it heats, the old solder will become shiny & melt. Remove heat. This should be enough to repair those connections. Look at the solered pin; if you see a crack in the solder around the pin, heat it up again & apply a small amount of solder. After you reheat/resolder those pins, let it cool. Then reassemble the gauge cluster. It sounds tougher than it really is. Just be gentle & work carefully. You'll be fine, & your gauges will work again.

P1296 No 5 Volts To MAP Sensor

hello' need help to solve the problem: on the dogge neon 1996 P1296 No 5 Volts To MAP Sensor thanks

The PAF sensor talks to the ECU and the ECUtells theNAF sensor when to talk. Any voltage to any sensor comes from the ECU. if you have jump started or shorted the sysrem, it coukd take out the ECU. we won't stop on that though, Now you need to go fuse chkg and make sure the Mass Air Flow is securely pligged into its connector. The MAF sensor is the first sensor in the ducting leaving the air filter. Do that before you ck fuses so you don't waste too much time. Good luck

Take it to Autozone or Advanced auto and get an engine diagnostic and ask them to printout the results. Most times it's a sensor.

96 Dodge Neon Cuts out while driving

Engine shuts off without any warning. After waiting 10-15 minutes, it will start again and run for 15-20 min and then shuts off again. I have not attempted any fixes as of yet. Someone told me that it was vaporlock, but that doesn't make sense. I also heard of fuel pump not giving enough head pressure and then injectors fail. Any help in diagnosing this would be very welcome.

Had similar problem with 97 Plymouth Neon.  It turn out that the Crank Shaft Position Sensor was failing,  since I replaced it the car has been running smooth with no problems.

dodge neon 2.0 L sohc how to remove lifters from rocker arms

how to remove lifters

Posted by on

Answer

  • Most Helpful of 1 Answers

Ok here is the deal, the lifters are poorly designed and prone to noise or "tick", the way to silence this is not just new lifters but new rocker arm assemblies which include new lifters. Use the best parts not the cheapest ones, factory new one are improved from previous designs. If you still want to just replace the lifters you must take the rockers to a machine shop and have the lifters pressed out and replaced by them. Another suggestion is if you live in a warm climate use 10W-30W synthetic oil.
