Setting the clock in a 1987 Dodge Dakota
First things first, if you havent already done so, check the owners manual. If you lost it or dont have one, i suggest 1 of these 2 procedures:
1.) Next to the radio, there should be 2 little holes. They are actually buttons. One of these has hours or "h" above it, while the other is labelled minutes or "m". Use a pen to press those little buttons to set the correct time.
OR
2.) Use the knobs to tune the radio (AM/FM and volume) to set the time. This is how it works:
-Press and hold the Time button
-The "hours" on the display should flash
-Turn the radio tuning knob to set the correct time
-Press and hold the tuning knob
-The "minutes" on the display should flash
-Set the correct time
Then you should either wait for it to stop flashing or press the time button to set it.
Fuel pump location on 87 Dodge Dakota 3.9 V-6
Should be throttle body injected,if so in the gas tank. If it's carburated it's on the passenger side of the engine about mid-way down the front on the block, under the alternator.
Dakota 87 engine stops while driving and will not then turn over
when you get it running agin take some needle nose pliers and grab the wires coming out of the distributor, then kinda twist them back and forth!!
if the engine stumbles or stalls then that will confirm your problem!!
go to the parts house and purchase a magnetic pickup assy for the distributor!!
Replace Blinker arm on 1987 Dodge Dakota
Sorry, when mine went out last year it was IMPOSSIBLE (2 Dodge dealerships, 2 different auto parts chains, and 3 repair shops) to find a replacement.
Had to replace the entire steering column from a junkyard.
Good luck!
