Hi
Thanks
for using FixYa. First of all you’ll need to check battery voltage, recharge it
if it is low or jump start with another battery charger. Inspect, clean and
tight both ends of all battery cables. Also check, clean and tight wiring
connections. Check for voltage at relay. If relay has voltage but there is no
"click" when key is turned to start, replace relay. Remove starter
and inspect drive gear and flywheel teeth, replace damaged parts if necessary. Check
to see if voltage reaches starter relay/solenoid when turn to start. If not,
check for open P/N switch and brake or clutch pedal switch. Replace the parts
which are defective. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or
else revert for further assistance.
Thanks
Rylee

well I'm leaning towards a battery problem,, try a battery from anoter vehicle and see if it still starts hard..
The sensors have to be tested with a diagnostic tool,, eighter obd 1 or obd 2 tester.. Its connected to the cars computer and it list the fault codes for you.. Thats how you check the sensors and stuff.. Get a tech with a diagnostic machine and have him test it,, its cheaper that buying one..
the error codes ,, if you get any,, will refer back to a sensor or so.. all you will need to do is replace the sensors,, or check its connections..

Oil changes
You should check your owners manual for this information under severe service use. My gut reaction is 4000 is way too many miles if you expect to use this vehicle long term.
The oil may appear clean, the addatives that help the oil to lubricate and preserve your engine are more than likely consumed by 4000 miles.
I have a 04 dodge 3500 auto 5.9 cummins turbo,
On the passenger side of the vehicle across form the battery box, in the front right side of the engine. The easiest way to get to it is to remove the intake tube from the air cleaner, on the right and down from the airbox.
How to change oil in standard transmission in
There should be a pipe plug on the bottom side of the
transmission, to drain it. And another plug 1/2 way up
the side to fill it.Both plugs should have either a square male head or square female head.
I hope I was of some help. Good luck.
