2002 Dodge Ram 3500 Truck - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

The voltage is regulated by the pcm (power control module ) on the truck. You cannot make any adjustments, removed or tampered with in any way to the pcm. Only a dodge dealer can check it out to see what the problem is with the pcm. Hope this will help you.

check the oil and transmission fluid levels also smell and look at the trans fluid if smells burnt and looks brownish you can change filter and fluid and hope no internal damage ---also to much oil and fluid is just as bad as low --- have the codes read most auto stores offer this service for free

YES SOUNDS LIKE YOU DIDNT TIGHTEN DOWN THE SILINOID WIRE TIGHT ENOUGH ON THE STARTER. THIS WIRE IS ALSO YOUR IGNITION WIRE IT KEEPS THE POWER GOING THRU THE LOOP SO CHECK YOUR HOT WIRE ON STARTER SOMETIMES WE THINK WE TIGHTEN THEM DOWN BUT WE GET EASILY DISSTRACTED

IT MEANS THE ENGINE IS COLD FOR TO LONG SO ITS A TEMPERATURE SENSOR. YOU NEED TO CHANGE THE THERMASTAT IN YOUR CAR. THE GAGE IS WORKING OR YOU WOULD NOT GET A 1287 CODE SO DONT MESS WITH THE GAUGE, JUST GET A NEW THERMASTAT. AND UNHOOK YOUR NEGATIVE CABLE ON THE BATTERY BEFOR YOU REPLACE THIS AND TURN IGNITION TO START POSITION AND DO A TEN SECOND COUT, THEN REPLACE THE THERMASTAT , THEN HOOK YOUR NEGATIVE CABLE BACK UP THIS CLEARS THE CODES IN YOUR CAR SO IT WILL READ NEW CODES AS THINGS GO OUT. ALWAYS CLEAR YOUR CODES BEFOR DOING THE REPAIR AND DONT HOOK UP THE BATTERY UNTIL YOUR DONE WORKING ON IT,

I do not think it has anything to do with the door. I think you should put a scan tool on it and see what you pull for codes.

Hi Francis: I'm assuming you've checked the bulbs and confirmed the grounds and sockets. I'd check the transmission to see if there is a wire coming from it. that should be the reverse lights switch. Check with a continuity meter to make sure it is working. Reverse shift position - continuity. Any other position, switch should be open. Replace if not working. If it is working you'll need to explore more. Please reply as a comment to this post if you need more info. Cheers.

did the cable break , you can open it with a scrwdriver put the lever over it has two lock mech on it ,

May be possible to remove grill to gain access.

you probably pulled a wire loose while replacing the injector pump. there is also a main set of breakers in a box under the hood.

Vacuum lines do not actually go into the transfer case, they go to the 4x4 actuator and there is a vent hose at the top...that is about it.

if it is a G.M. product from around 2000 +/- then it is a security feature that shuts of the fuel pump when a electrical spike is registered in the system.....if you leave it for about 20 minutes it will start up and run normaly, if it keeps occuring then you will have to take it in to a dealer to have this feature disabled '04 vette and 2000 suburban both went through this...

there is a pressure switch that shuts the power off in the run position when the pressure required is met

check the break switch , could engage the belt from coming out.

Look for a little antenna in the middle of windshield if it has a button on it press to reset. If not look for a kill switch usually on plastic under steering wheel on TH left side around where the bottom of your leg is when u sit in car if you find one switch to opposite other position . If that doesn't work you have to find out what wire is stopping power to your ignition if there's a local alarm place I would suggest having them take the alarm out and back to factory

This is usually a good situation to bring to alarm shop and have them take it out and see if you can just keep the remote start or it might need a new brain on the alarm system

check the harness plug where it passes behind the drivers side steer tire, in snow areas salt can mess this plug up, check for juice there, and corrosion issues.
