-If it has Distributor Cap and Rotor check them and their contact point should not be rusty, cut/worn. Rotate Distributor assly for getting a better synchronization/timing. - check you have fuel pressure at fuel rail. - is the fuel fresh. Spray some starting fluid in the air intake. 1987 dodge d150 break lights

get yourself a tester to see if you are getting power to the light socket, have someone push on the brake petal and use the tester to check for power. If no power, you have a broken wire somewhere between the rear lights and dash [fuse panel] check for corrosion in bulb socket. try to find the wire along the frame to the rear lights for any breaks in the insulation. electrical is one of the hardest problems to solve, good luck.

Does a1987 Dodge 150 pickup truck 4x4 have a fuel regulator? If so where is it located?

if it starts OK when warm , but not when cold , I would say it is the temperature sensor, sometimes on the intake manifold, engine block, or even the radiator, but don't confuse it with the fan sensor on the rad.

My dodge d150's speedometer is jumping wildly. I removed the cable from the transmission and spun the cable by hand and will jump all over the place with just a little twist.

Pull it loose from the speedometer end, pull the cable out all the way. Spray a little white lithium grease into the housing. Then as you are puting the cable back put a little here and there on it.
