I recently tried the DIY service and repair manuals from a website and it actually helped me repair transmission problem in my jcb 3cx site-master. It would'nt move forward or reverse, engine was good both solenoids
for forward and reverse worked, but still couldn't diagnose the problem.
I don't have much technical knowledge but I just followed it step-wise, and works perfect! got it from www.reliable-store.comAll the best
I know there's a code where you can turn the key X number of times, or something like that ??????? No it can't , you need to take it to a qualified repair shop.
Dodge , chrysler , jeep vehicles you can turn the key on - off - on - off - on three times an they show a coded in the odometer section of the instrument cluster . GM vehicles you need to plug in a scan tool .
Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop.
This requires lamp replacement - and that means pulling the instrument cluster. I have done this on several cars, it has been easier than one may think. Read up or look for YouTube video for your car. Given the age and one has failed, pretty shortly all will statistically - so replace the rest. This repair takes me about 30 minutes - you may want to leave this to a shop mechanic.
My service engine light was caused by a cloged passage from my EGR valve. Mine is a 3.1 with fuel injection 2003. All I needed to do was pull the two bolts over the intake plenum and remove the vacuum connection to the PCV valve. Then clean out the EGR port just below the vacuum connection in the throttle port. I would remove the rubber intake to vacuum it out. The carbon was like rock in there. Service engine light cleared on its own.

You could possibly have a problem inside the the under hood fuse box . ( Corrosion ) Looking at a wiring diagram both right an left high beams ground side splice together inside the fuse box . This ground or (circuit ) Comes out of the fuse box at connector 2 pin E6 Dark blue with a white trace wire. Do you know how to do voltage drop testing ? I will give you a training video on youtube on how to do it . Look at the diagram the left headlamp assembly pin G goes to the underhood fuse box on a pink wire going into the fuse box at connector 2 pin B7 . With a volt meter test for B+ voltage there and at the headlamp assembly pin G .. Watch this video it will show you how to test .

Before you did any repairs to address your overheating problem, did you check to see if your fans were working at all ? One way to check if they are working is by starting your vehicle and turning the A/C on, they should automatically start running. If they do not, begin to perform diagnosis to that electric circuit.
I am assuming you have a 3.1 v6 engine the spark plugs are 3 right in the front next to the oil dipstick and above the exhaust manifold you can follow the wires from the coil to find each plug. The other 3 are on the back side of the engine and can be difficult to get to. Easiest way is to remove the upper engine mounts and tilt the engine forward a few inches with a ratchet strap or something to gain clearance. MAKE SURE it is secure because your arms will be back there. And those three plugs are in the same location as others just on the opposite side of the engine.again just follow spark plug wires down to the plug.
