1992 Buick LeSabre - Page 5 Questions & Answers
Car wont start but lights all come on
There are several things that must happen for it to work. My first thought is the solenoid circuit. IF that's good, then a relay isn't giving the go-ahead for the starter circuit to engage. Assuming the brake circuit is working, and the car really knows it's in PARK (I had a Dodge that had a misaligned linkage and the key wouldn't engage the power to the starter) then the ignition switch might be the problem.
1992 buick le sabre blower motor resistor location
If your Buick has "automatic HVAC" (you set a temp and it stays there) you do not have a resistor but a electronic controller. The common failure on these is the blower stays on when the key is turned off. In either case, the part is usually located on the engine side of the duct work. it will have wires/connectors and be in the airflow of the blower.
I have a 92 Buick
The clicking noise is the starters solenoid making that sound. If the battery & starter connections are clean and tight along with a fully charged battery the solenoid is at fault
Ac not blowing cold
there is a pressure switch on the ac drier that is the big silver can looking thing by the dash under the hood... if this goes bad the ac compressor will not kick on and the fans will not run when the ac is turned on... if the fans are not running at the same time of the ac compressor it will not blow cool..
2000 pontiac grand am GT
security device activated. do you have the orginal radio in it? and does it flash LOCK when it stalls?
Buick lesabre nightmare 2
- The PCM doesn't even see the O2 sensor until engine temp has reached operating temp, the vehicle goes from open loop when cold,to closed loop when warm, where the PCM uses the O2 sensor to measure the rich/lean of the exhaust content, and from that, adjust fuel richness to achieve 14.7 to 1 air/fuel ratio. So when cold, the O2 sensor is out of the picture anyways. When unplugging sensors,it can be deceitful. The PCM has a program whereas,if a critical sensor (such as the mass air flow) is somehow damaged and out of the picture, the PCM will substitue a generic value that will allow the engine to stay running. So,by unplugging the MAF,it did try to run on it's own better than plugged in,there's the problem area. The vehicle is running better with the MAF unplugged, because the MAF is likely bad,and the PCM is substituting it's generic value when it IS unplugged.Something to recheckThe PROM update is a newer program for the PCM,and likely won't fix it unless the PCM is bad.I would try a good used PCM as a last or later resort, because i have seen my fair share of defective PCM's too.I have taken some PCM's apart, and found capacitors that had gone bad and leaked all over the circuit board, mostly Honda and Mitsubishi and Chrysler though.Good luck, keep me posted.
Fuel feed
There are several causes for these symptoms. It isn't impossible for this problem to be related to a defective ECU but it isn't my first guess. My first guess would be a worn/loose ignition switch. I see more failures from owners who hang a lot of keys or stuff from the ignition key plus this is an older car so it is normal to see more component failures. Besides the obvious stalling do you notice anything else? Specifically do you notice any lights flickering or going out on the gauge cluster. You also could look at the fuse box. Dirt or corrosion can interrupt a connection to a fuse or a relay. The ignition control module could be on its way out but it doesn't usually fail like your symptoms describe. When this "No start" occurs, find out what you lose. If you are losing spark then it could be the ignition control module. If your loosing fuel then it might be the oil sending unit or fuel pump relay. There are so many variables but to keep things moving forward. You should just go with these suggestions for now. Once you get into this repair and have new information. The more that you test and inspect, the more you will narrow down your search. You are the eyes and ears on this one. The more you can share with me, the more I have to go by, good luck.
What would I need to do if the inside of my car
If you don't want the light to drain your battery pull the bulb out, pull the fuse, or disconnect the battery. It sounds like a door switch or your light switch maybe faulty cauing a constant power condition to your interior light.
When the car is cool it will crank up, but when itget hot it shut off and wont crack backup
Does it crank and wont start, or does it not even crank over when hot? If it still cranks, if the starter cranks the engine over, then check for spark when it won't start. If you have no spark, something in your ignition system may get hot and fail-something like the crank position sensor, or the ignition control module.
Here is how to check for trouble codes on your Lesabre, and the code descriptions:
