2006 ford fusion key will not come out of ignition

Electronic's . Your vehicle has a couple safety system that are computer controlled . Shift interlock won't let the gear selector move from park into a gear unless you foot is pushing on the brake pedal .Brake switch is a input to the SJB - smart junction box , ford's body control module. The SJB controls a lock solenoid that will lock the gear selector . Plus has system feature that won't let the key lock an be pulled from the ignition if not in park . Problems happen that cause these not to work . Your best bet , have a qualified repair shop check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes .

My 2006 Ford Fusion has

Most likely issue is your accelerator position sensor. Recommed you remove it and test with an ohmmeter. I don't have the pinout, but there are only four pins. Find the two pins that have a change in resistance when the arm is rotated. The resistance should change smoothly as you rotate the arm. If it jumps around, replace it. Cost is about $75.

Tail lights wont come one

Do you know what a smart junction box is ? This fords BCM - body control module .( computer ) The smart junction box (SJB) monitors the headlamp switch position by sending multiple voltage reference signals to the headlamp switch. When the headlamp switch is in any given position, that input signal is routed to ground. When the SJB receives an input from the headlamp switch indicating a request for the parking lamps, the SJB energizes the parking lamp relay, which supplies voltage to the exterior lamps. 1. If the cause is not visually evident, connect the diagnostic tool to the data link connector (DLC) and select the vehicle to be tested from the diagnostic tool menu. If the diagnostic tool does not communicate with the vehicle:
    • check that the program card is correctly installed.
    • check the connections to the vehicle.
    • check the ignition switch position.
  1. If the diagnostic tool still does not communicate with the vehicle, refer to the diagnostic tool operating manual.
  1. Carry out the diagnostic tool data link test. If the diagnostic tool responds with:
    • CAN or ISO circuit fault; all electronic control units no response/not equipped, refer to Section 418-00 .
    • No response/not equipped for SJB, refer to Section 419-10 .
    • System passed, retrieve and record the continuous diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), erase the continuous DTCs and carry out the self-test diagnostics for the SJB.
  1. If the DTCs retrieved are related to the concern, go to the Smart Junction Box (SJB) Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Index.
  1. If no DTCs related to the concern are retrieved, GO to Symptom Chart .

Do you know how to do automotive electrical circuit testing ? Pinpoint Test Q: One Or More Parking, Rear or License Plate Lamps Is Inoperative Normal Operation Voltage is supplied to the smart junction box (SJB) from the battery junction box (BJB) fuse 23 (60A) through circuit SBB23 (WH/RD). When the headlamp switch is placed in the PARKING LAMPS ON position, the SJB provides a ground for the parking lamp relay coil (internal to the SJB). When the parking lamp relay is energized, voltage is sent through circuit CBP08 (GY/YE) to the rear and front parking lamps. Ground is provided to the rear parking and license plate lamps through circuit GD171 (BK/GY). Ground is provided to the front parking and side marker lamps through circuits GD121 (BK/GY), GD121 (BK/RD), GD121 (BK/YE), GD121 (GY/YE), GD123 (BK/YE) or GD123 (BK/GY).

I've been having problems with

cruise controls are funny things you have to accelerate to a speed then turn it on and press set It will cruise at that speed if you touch the brake it will unset and you will have to press on the accelerator again to the speed and pres resume if you want to accelerate to pass just press the accelerator until you have passed , then just take your foot off the accelerator and it will coast until the set speed if you change gears , it will unset if you touch the brake , it will unset if you have it set and find the speed to fast , hold the set button and it will slow down to the speed you want let the button go and it will set at the speed if you want to go faster than the set speed press the resume button and it will speed up until you get the speed you want from your description of the problem , it appears that you have misread the instructions in the owners manual

2006 Ford Fusion. Left front door inside handle

This link is from the handle to the latch. The door panel has to be removed in order for this problem to be fixed. The linkage is inside the door panel, it is a small diamater metal rod called a link. If you do the job yourself be careful not to break the door panel. In a shop, the labor is 1 hour for the job & if any, parts will be a seperate charge.
