77 el camino leaks from passenger side behind
Hello there:
This leakage that youare seeing is coming from the heater core which means that you will need to remove the heater core and get a new one
The best way to do this is to Mark and disconnect the 2 hoses that are going thru the firewall to whick pipe they attach to on the heater core then remove the 6 or 8 nuts or bolts that hold it into place then you will find that the box that the heater core is sitting in may have some nuts and bolts on it to so remove them next the box itself needs to be seperated at the seam to assist in the removal of the heater core so cut along the seam with a very sharp knife or a utility knife and then remove the old heater core and install the new one then put everything back and dont forget to reseal the box otherwise you wont get much heat flow from the core de to air getting inside of the box ok then make sure you put sealant on the bolts where they go thru the fire wall and tighten it down firmly then reattach the hoses and you are done
Hope this is very helpful for you
Best regards Michael

Is the oil level full? If the trans oil is low enough it will prevent the car from moving or engaging gears. If you have to fill it up then pull your gear selector through each gear including 2 and 1, waiting at each spot for a few seconds. Do this twice and check the oil level again. Top up if necessary.
Can you wiggle the shifter at D and get the trans to engage. If so the shifter linkage is too loose and will need to be tightened up, possibly by adjusting but also may need to incliude replacing bushings and spacers.
Have you done any work to the trans lately? It's possible something wasn't hooked up properly so crawl under there and double check everything again. Years ago, I owned a service station and I had a guy bring in a car with your symptoms. He had changed the trans and thought he had a bad one. He paid me for 2 hours labor because he forgot to put the torque convertor bolts back in so double check carefully.
If none of this works you likely have a bad pump inside it and the trans will need to be replaced or rebuilt. If this is the case you might want to look at a 700R4. It will give you an extra gear with a little work They work off a vacuum/electric switch mounted on the firewall. Pick it up in a scrap yard.
It's not likely that a fluid and filter change will do any good now. It would give you an idea of what might be wrong inside but that's about all. Hope this helps.
