Insall new ignition switch

Hello there sboris86,

Changing the switch is easy. Getting to it is a bit involved.

You'll need some specialized tools.
  • A steering wheel puller
  • Lock plate compressor
  • Torx drivers
  • Metric sockets
  • Breaker bar
  • Marker or paint pen
  • Patience
To keep this reasonably sized, I'm going to assume an above average familiarity with the tools and components. If you want clarification on something, just ask.
BTW, this took a while, I expect a 'FixYa' rating for all this. Sound fair? OK.

Heres the procedure:
  • Disconnect the negative battery cable
  • Remove the steering wheel shroud ( 7mm socket).
  • Remove horn contact (watch the spring, don't lose it)
  • Spread and remove the retaining clip.
  • Use the breaker bar to remove the nut.
  • Mark the wheel and column for reassembly
  • Break out the steering wheel puller and pull the wheel
  • GENTLY pry the plastic shaft lock cover off the column
  • Screw the lock plate compression tool on to the column and press the lock plate down
  • Remove the retaining ring. Use whatever tool works for you on this one. Once removed, release the lock plate and remove it.
  • Unscrew and remove the the hazard knob.
  • Still with me? Good we're almost halfway there. Just kidding
  • Remove the turn signal lever.
  • Remove the canceling cam and turn switch assembly (three screws). Let it hang.
  • Your there. Remove the cylinder retaining screw (2 o'clock position inside the column).
  • Turn the key to the ON position and pull it out.
Reverse this procedure for reassembly. If you need additional info or have other questions, just click the ASK button.

Fuel sending unit

Hey nflplayer_7,

Smart move. I've got the schematics and I only see two wires.

The Black wire should be a frame ground.
The Pink Wire goes to the instrument cluster

Get back with me if the colors are different. I'll trace them for you.

Over Heating S-10 Blazer......HELP...

How hot is it geting? Does it overheat? Check your fan clutch. It's designed to run free when cold and lock up as it gets hot. If it's not, engine will overheat, especially when driving slow or in traffic (at speed, generally air flow is sufficient to prevent overheat) When you turn off engine, fan should only spin for a couple of turns if at all with hot engine. Usually it will also have some side play if it has failed. In some cases you can see grease leaking from inside.

Get door panel off of a 85 s-10 blazer 2 door

It is held on by a small U shaped clip the slides in a groove in the handle. You can use a thin blade flat screw driver or they do make a tool available at a local auto parts store in the "help" section.
Good luck. Dont forget to rate me.

Clutch problems

If your clutch is not disengaging completely it makes it difficult to get into gear. If it was one gear it may be a synchronizer, but from your description I would say its the clutch.
If your clutch actuator is hydraulic, your master or slave cylinder may be causing the problem. When the seals start to go bad, the clutch will not disengaged completely.

There is usually a dimension in the maintenance manual about checking the gap between the clutch disc and the flywheel. Your local library should have some sort of maintenance manual or perhaps you could find some figures online.

Brand new battery installed, still no power?

YOU COULD HAVE A VERY BAD CONTECTION FROM BATTERY TO STARTER, TRY TO ATTACH LEAD DIRECT TO STARTER (LARGE FEED CONTECTOR) FROM JUMP BATTERY AND THEN CRANK WITH FULL BATTERY, IF SAME STARTER IS JAMMED OR SIEZING UP

How do you adjust the

Hello;
The carbureator is sealed so you cannot get into to make adjustments. That said, there are soft lead plugs near the base and you can pry them out. Now you are able to access the adjusting screws. You need an air/fuel meter to accurately set them to spec. Hope this helps.
Thanks;
