I think maybe my TPS is gone in my 1998 venture
You should really have the van scaned before you put any more parts on it. Autozone will scan it for free. You could spend alot of money just putting parts on it. If you can come up with a code/DTC for your problem then let me know and I will be better able to help you. Good Luck
1998 chev venture
There is a nylon strap that gears will run to move the window up and down. If the strap breaks or it is no longer connected to the window then the motor will keep working but the window will not move.
Best thing to do is go to a auto windshield replacement shop. They have all the tools and extra parts need to fix the problem. If you take it to the dealer, that will just call a auto glass shop to come in and fix it and charge you the mark up.
After removing the door panel to see what part you need to replace and running around to order the part and extra clips for the door panel that always break, not to forget lots of band aide. There will be blood, alway's blood when working on door panels. Some things are worth the two hours of service.
Good luck and keep me posted if you need instructions to removing the door panel. If there is an Auto Zone the sell the nylon strap and parts needed for your door and can give the step by step instructions too.
Our 1998 Chevy Venture is overheating. All fluids okay.
if you are not sure if it is the fan motor you can disconnect the plug to the fan and run a jumper wire with a positive and ground from the battery to the fan plug and it it comes on than the motor is good. and you have a bad wire or sensor. and one easy fix for that would be to get a toggle switch put it in the cab and run wires to a power sorce and then to the fan wires. i have done it once so you would have to keep an eye on the temp and turn the fan on manually. that would be a cheap and temporarily fix

1998 Chevrolet Venture Liftgate
it isn't that the cable is off I believe it will be that the mechanism is siezed. you will need to gain entry from the inside through an access hole in rear hatch door. once you get the door open you will need to remove the latch and oil it with penetrating oil and work the latch until it works freely
Van died thought it was out of gas put gas in it
Three possible issue here. One, the fuel pump may be faulty and inoperable. Two, the fuel filter may need to be changed due to clog. Last, there may be a voltage issue with the current that is directed to the fuel pump causing a weak stream.you should have 14 volts going to this fuel pump. if its lower than that, it wont pump properly.also, there can also be water in the tank or bad gas. I suspect a dirty fuel filter and faulty fuel pump possibly.
My 98 chevy venture overheats
Sounds like the old Dex-Cool problem. Check the level of the coolant in the radiator "not" the overflow bottle. If the intake or head gaskets haven't cooked yet you may be ok. Fill the radiator to its filler neck, remember to let the air out of the system by opening the bleeder screw located on the plenum inlet hose just forward of the radiator cap. Replace your radiator cap ! Make sure the return hose from the radiator overflow bottle is not kinked. Finally check your oil fill cap to make sure your not foaming from water in the oil.
If you're lucky you may be fine with this relatively cheap fix, otherwise you're looking at gaskets. Good Luck !
98 Chevy Venture front windshield wipers
I found problem to be that corrosion sets in between the CAMS plates
that circle in an opposing fashion and does not let the wiper arms park
correctly. Be very careful with this mechanism if you have the cowling
off
TURN the KEY and WIPERS OFF and watch your fingers so you don't get them
caught.
WARNING if you leave the power on and try to move the arms This cam
mechanism springs to life and will try to self park the wipers on their
own so Turn the Power and Wipers Off.
SOLUTION:
1. With the ENGINE COLD, Spray a lubricant that FREE'S CORRODED PARTS
like WD-40 between the gap of the 2 CAM Plates and on Top of the plates,
or use some other automotive parts lubricant that free's corroded
parts(let it soak for 5 minutes).
2. Gently Try to manually move the arms back and forth a little bit so
that the spray works into the parts.
3. This may not be necessary but I had to do this the first time.
There is a notch in the top cam that has a STUD that locks the 2 CAMs
together. You can push on this STUD to unlock the cams by manually
moving the wipers(use a screw driver to push on the STUD and have a
friend gently move the wipers manually. Spray the area LIBERALLY with
with the Lubricant Spray and see if you can move the CAMS back and forth
and work the lubricant in.
Then with the wiper cover out of the way and all tools clear Try to
cycle the wipers HIGH and LOW, ON and OFF a few times it may stick the
first couple times with the wipers in the up position but I am confident
that the lubricant will work its way in and free these CAMS the way
they are supposed to.
Your wipers should self park after cycling them after 5-10times. This
should solve most of the problems with these
wipers and should be relubricated as needed. Clean up any extra
lubricant Put the wiper cover back on.
Sliding doors won't lock or unlock using keyless.
there are 3 possibilities that I would check first. 1: make sure the contacts on the door, and body where the touch are clean. the lock and unlock signal are sent through these. 2: You may try replacing the battery in your key fob. 3: the power lock motors may have gone bad. To check, lock the doors with the drivers door panel, if they lock, they are fine. Another solution may be to recode your key fob. procedure for coding the fob to your vehicle can be found online.
1998 CHEVY VENTURE
Never less than about 10lbs.usually 30lbs or so
If less then either engine main bearings is badly worn or or the relief valve inside the oil pump is stuck in the bipass mode.
