Got a leak from the

Hello Barry.
There is a flange attached to the pinion shaft that drives the gears inside the differential.
This flange is held to the shaft by a large nut threaded onto the pinion shaft.
On the flange there is a machined surface the seal rides on to retain oil inside the differential.
Sometimes rust can develop on this surface and tear the seal. Also debris could damage it as well.
Or in a worst case scenario the bearing that the pinion shaft turns on goes bad and allows the flange to wobble.
It will take an experienced mechanic a little over an hour to replace the seal.
The large nut on the pinion flange needs to be properly torqued and takes a proper torque wrench to do it.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Check to see if the battery is charged, check the cables for corroision--look for corrosion on the cable, may have to peel back the rubber on ends to see. If you can jump it this means you are not getting what you need from your battery, .

You've got a short or the ignition switch is faulty. Run your hand over any power wire to see if you have any hot spots. This is where the short is. Also the starter may be good but the starter solinoid may be shorting in which case change the solinoid. Good luck!

Chevrolet suburban C2500 fuel filter

First thing, find your fuel filter (drivers side frame rail, about center in the truck...looks like a metal can in the middle of a metal line) and clean the exterior and the area around it so you don't get particulate matter into the new one or the line. Next, pull the fuel pump relay and start the engine. It will die, but it depressurizes the fuel line. Turn everything off, replace the relay, and you can proceed to remove the fuel filter with a couple of wrenches. On occasion, you'll find one with a different type of connector, so make sure you know how to release anything different before you start. Put the new one on, and turn on the ignition switch to run, (don't start it yet) then off, and repeat a couple of times to prime and pressurize it again. Then start, and check for leaks.
