I had the same problem with a 1998 k1500. It turned out that the terminals in the fuse box were distorted and did not make good contact with the relay. My solution was to get a relay for a 1988 thru 1995 pickup that mount on the firewall and has bigger contacts. I mounted it on the firewall and sliced into the wires in the fuse block on the 1998. This was 2 years ago and I haven't hafd a problem since.

Could be a bad VCM (vehicle control module) or possible wiring issue to the transmission.

There are a number of different hub systems so this may not work but it has worked for me on both auto and manual locking hubs. On a flat surface without traffic. Put the trans into neutral, shift the transfer case into 4x4, shift the trans into reverse and back the truck up 15-20 feet. Completely stop and shift trans into drive. See if this has locked the hubs in. If not, you can also try following the same instructions except shifting into 4wd low. Sometimes the hubs need a "bump" to get them to slip into place. Keep In mind that if the 4 wd low select works, you need to shift it back into 4 wd high before continuing! When taking the truck out of 4wd to 2wd, I recommend the same, shift to neutral, select 2wd, back truck up, shift back to drive and check. Its entirely possible that your hubs need maintenance (they're often overlooked) but hopefully this will get you going. Please let me know if thus worked or if I can offer other suggestions. so what is there the 96 to 99 full size had a problem with the fuel pump connectors--corrosion causing short or overheating--- so when the pump failed you were advised to cut out and replace the connector with a new design one [flat] Delphi FA10003 Fuel Pump Wiring Harness which are also color coded to the original one their was also a square to flat adapter so if you have the flat connector just splice to the correct color Bosch WHGM67XMOD Fuel Pump Wiring Harness

you have a 1500 that the shifter moves to drive and vehicle doesnt or shifter doesnt move and stuck in park or shifter moves into gear and shifts but not move so which is it since you have given us three different problems in the mean time check fluid and level in tranny as well as the trans cable under vehicle usually rust out

no offence, just chking , Fuse, Both bulbs , Turn signals fuse, All chked and good? one more thing, is the brake switch being fully depressed? Can't assume anything, sorry.

Check the fuse with a test light

check to see if something is blocking the daylight sensor on the dash. If it is not being blocked check to see if the relay for the automatic lights is stuck. If any of these issues are happening then the headlights would be on switching off the daytime running lights

the cap should be marked on a vortec 4.3 liter. the left side of engine is from front #1 #3 and #5 cylinders. the right side from front is #2 #4 and #6.

Possible bad Starter motor. Possible dead battery. Possible bad Alternator resulting in a dead battery.
First try have someone hold the key in Full Start position, hear the click and tap on starter motor with a hammer. If it kicks in and starts up (be ready for that) then the starter is going bad and should be replaced. (Might get 3 -4 more starts like that)
BE VERY CAREFUL TO NOT TAP ON WIRES.
If there is no change, then you should be able to jump start it with cables from another battery/car.
Then you need to figure out if the battery is expired or if the Alternator is not charging enough.
You can do this with a multimeter on the battery. With engine running you should read about 14.5 volts or more, up to around 15 volts plus.. If not, if voltage is around 12 volts or lower, when running, then you will need to replace the Alternator.

If you are getting good voltage from the alternator, then you can assume you need to replace the battery. The other alternative is a short circuit draining the battery or you left a light on somwhere and drained it. Run the car for 30 to 40 mins minimum to recharge battery (idle is good). Or just use a battery charger. 10 amps for 3- 4 hours, or 2 amps overnight..

Check for grounded injector wires around the throttle body.. Sometimes the air cleaner assembly will short it out.
