The fuel injectors need voltage and ground. The voltage usually goes hot with key on and is fuse protected. When problem is ongoing, you could use a test light to check for voltage at fuel injector. Engine cranking if voltage on both wires, there is no ground. The computer grounds that circuit.
There is a purple wire with white tracer that carries rpm signal from ignition module to computer, that is rpm signal, w/o that dc pulse on that wire, the computer won't ground the fuel injector. Just my opinion. There could be a problem with your ignition module, but, I can't be certain?
89' Blazer S10: None of the gauges on my dash work
Smoke isn't a good thing. When you shut the engine off the engine actually heats up some prior to cooling down because the coolant isn't running through the engine any longer. When you have electric fans, that's why they stay on for a few minutes after the car has shut off. Is the smoke coming from the fuse panel on the fender well or could it be your valve cover gaskets leaking onto the exhaust manifolds?

Chances are you have an oxygen sensor problem. When the engine warms up, the engine computer moves from open loop operation to closed loop, and it then uses the O2 sensor readings to adjust the fuel. If the sensor(s) is contaminated, it will send a false reading to the computer causing this problem.
How would i remove rounded flexplate bolts
They make special sockets for that problem at a local parts store..If Trans is still mounted to engine it will be a major task..You can remove TRANS with force just to get it out of the way because the torque converter will slide out of the trans and remain mounted to plate...This is dangerous and messy to do..DO NOT TRY UNLESS YOU HAVE ALL SAFETY EQUIPMENT..Also you need an assistant....Be sure TRANS is in neutral if you attempt this...
