1989 Corvette - Windshield Wiper Arm

On mine I lifted up the arm,at the base where its connected to the car there is a little metal tap that sticks out. Pick up on the tab,at the same time release the arm. It should stay up. Then kind of wiggle the base near the tab while pulling up on the arm.It should come right off.Its on a spline like stub.Try to put it back on the same spline teeth it came off of.This keeps the arm in the proper place. Once off its easier to see how the blades come off. Try calling a large auto parts store to see if they have your proper blades. Most large auto parts stores will install the blades for you for free if you buy blades from them.Dont buy the cheapest ones, they dont last.
I hope this helps you.

1989 corvette - headlights do

I had to rebuild the headlight motor gears on my 89 last year. There is a plastic gear in the headlight assembly that has little plastic "barrels" in it for tension. These little bushings disentigrate over a short period of time. both of mine went out about a month apart. They are called the Delrin Bushings and sell for 8.99 a set (MAdirect). sometimes the plastic gear get's damaged, so you may want a kit. I used a new plastic set don't recall how much, they also sell brass for $59 each side. I figure the plastic lasted 20 years last time. It is not for the novice, but it wasn't too hard if you have the right tools. second side took me an hour. good instructions.

My distributor gear on my 89 Chevy 5.7 motor with

You can try putting a thrust button on the front of the cam (available at speed shops) That will keep the cam from walking back and forth. Also, check the shims between the gear and housing. if I remember correctly the clearance there is minimum of 15 thousandths. If it's tighter than that it may bind on the cam gear. Also, if the gear has failed multiple times take a good look at the teeth on the cam. If they have become damaged, it will continue to "eat" dist gear unless you remove the cam and either "dress" the gear or change the cam.

Right headlight door opens half way

There is an adjustment knob next to the headlight bucket, remove the cover, should be a hard molded piece that looks like it would cap a funky looking A-1 steak sauce bottle. Adjust the gear by twisting it.

Rough idle

The cam or crank sensor is going out when driving at high speeds. I would have those parts check, and have the fuel pressure check , fuel filter change to be on the safe side.

Good luck

What kind of fittings are use to hook up manifold

To evacuate, you need a set of gauges between the pump and the a/c system you only open the low side. The gauges will need to have the appropriate fittings for your system. After evacuation to about 21" of vacuum, watch gauges and make sure reading does not change (if it does likely you have a leak somewhere). Recharge through gauge set on low side as well.
