My 2005 2500 HD Duramax is not getting any heat inside cab. Engine is not running hot and coolant level is fine. Turned the heater controls up and down fast today and ot some heat for a while.

The temperature of the air coming out of the ducts is controlled by a door that moves between the heater core and the AC core, it is called the "blend" door for obvious reasons as it blends the hot and cold air streams to give the desired air temperature at the dash vents. The door is controlled by a small gear drive DC motor called the blend door actuator, what happens in most case is the actuator is damaged by a blend door that is warped from heat being hard to move or not moving at all which is the case with your truck. The blend door and its actuator should be replaced as one repair, the dash must be removed from the truck to access the air ducting that contains the blend door, you absolutely need a service manual to complete this job, it takes about 10 hours.

How do you repair or repair the accessory power

First check the fuse(s) under the hood, fuse box on drivers side, location of fuses on inside of fuse box cover, if fuse is good, then check for power to the fuse (test light) make sure it is connected correctly. If all is good the you will have to replace the plug assembly there is NO repair. Make sure it is a power plug and NOT a cigarette lighter plug.

look under the dash on the passenger side and you will see the blower motor, unplug the electrical connector and inspect it take special notice of the third pin from the left. they seem to have a common problem in that it melts the feed wire to the blower motor, a replacement plug kit can be found at most autoparts stores.

I don't think that can be done because a torque wrench measures torque, or tightness. A torque angle gauge only measures the amount of degrees that the bolt is turned in relationship to 360 degrees. Auto Zone has a small torque angle gauge that may work in a tight spot.

The EGR valve recirculates unburned Exhaust gasses to your Intake in order to increase Fuel Efficiency and lessen Emissions. What are the codes on your truck? The check engine light comes on when a sensor is out of range, or failing, and a code is stored. Autozone, etc. can check your code for free.
