My 2004 Chevy 2500 Durmax

Hi im thinking there is a fuel pressure problem, this could be the regulator of the injection line. this is supposed to keep pressure in the fuel system by closing when the engine is turned off. in there line as well is a sensor for the ecu, this tells the ecu the fuel pressure so it can start or open more for more fuel into the system i think one or both of these has failed, if it fails the fuel by gravity will go back to the tank.

I own a 2004 Silverado

Sounds like the pressure plate for the clutch is bad. However, I would mark where the adjustment is now so you can reset it to that position if the clutch adjustment does not fix the problem. I would then try to adjust the clutch and if no good replace the clutch, pressure plate and pilot bearing in the crank and then adjust the new clutch.

When cruse is set, why does it not hold going down hill

Cruise control only maintains speed by utilizing the accelerator. To speed up it increases it and during slowing is removes it. The cruise control will not apply brakes in the event of a steep downhill run. In this case the vehicle will start to accelerate in the same manner as if the cruise control was not engaged. But in theses cases, most cruise controls, once the speed exceeds a certain amount above the set speed, will auto-disengage as a safety feature.

The chime stopped working if

First you did not mention trim level or what radio you have asuming you have a RDS radio system since you mentioned your radio did in fact work that gives me the impression you do nt have a WT or base model. If in fact you have a RDS radio the chime only chimes on the one driverside speaker (large one in door not the tweeter) See if that speaker is opperational. If it is opperational and you have the controlls on the steering wheel locate your owners manual and see how to enable the chimes or disable the chime. You or someone may have disabled the chime. Try these two posibilities if they dont work resubmit and I will look into problem farther, it may be in the radio itself.

After dark I get no sound out of my speakers. Any other time of day it works great.

I take it you mean that the radio stops working completely once the headlights are switched on. So if you sit in the car during daylight hours and turn the lights off and on, the radio does the same except the other way round (lights off, radio on). Have I got that right? It cannot be the fuse because the radio wouldn't work at all if it had blown. The wiring may well be the problem. Something is either shorting or I am thinking that there is not enough power (for whatever reason) to run both lights and radio at the same time, although the battery draw on a radio is relatively low. Is your battery charging correctly? Does it happen if you open all doors and the interior lights operate. Try opening all the doors and turning headlights off and on. Do the interior lights turn off and on like the radio does?

  • Clean the cylinder head bolts, apply sealer to the threads, and hand-tighten.
  • Tighten the cylinder head bolts:
    1. M11 cylinder head bolts first pass in sequence to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
    2. M11 cylinder head bolts second pass in sequence + 90 degrees.
    3. M11 cylinder head bolts (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) + 90 degrees
    4. M11 cylinder head bolts (9 and 10) + 50 degrees
    5. M8 cylinder head bolts (11,12,13,14,15) to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.). Begin with the center bolt (11) and alternating side-to-side, work outward tightening all of the bolts. NOTE The cylinder head gasket displacement can be verified by markings visible on the underside of the right gasket locating tab. Some 4.8/5.3L head gaskets may have 53 stamped onto the locating tab. Some 6.0L head gaskets may have 60 stamped onto the locating tab.

I have a 04 Silverado 2500 with the 6.0L gas engine, its running rough at idle almost dies and is sluggish. Its throwing P0174 code which is right bank too lean. This started after installing all four

After all you have done to be honest the cam shafts sensor can cause that what happens is the truck gets to much fuel and the computer try to level out causing it to run lean a bad injector on that side can also be a fault even the egr valve hope this gives you a few new ideas if you had to replace o2 sensors and cat egr is probably carbon blocked

Parking brake goes down very easeyfeels like no spring and stays down when pulling release

Is the truck manual? if yes there is a recall for it. I can send you that if you need it. if not. So the parking brake pulls on a couple of cables and then pulls on the brake shoe in the drum. I would take the drum off and then have someone push down on the parking brake and then release it while puling back up on the parking brake as you watch what is happening with the shoes. if they stay applied most likely you have a bad cable. disconnect and pull on each cable which ever one does not move is the problem
