I would start by changing both trans filters and fluid, makesure you put dex VI in trans then if still having problems take to someone with a Tech 2 scanner and have them reset the trans adapts and try that, what it does is resets trans to factory (new) mode and then as you drive the truck it will adjust to your driving habits and shift points, but loosing pressure makes me think one of your filters is partially plugged...there is a spin on cartridge and the internal one in pan, change em both..good luck

EITHER IS MANUAL OR AUTO THE TRANS NEED AN OVERHAUL.I SUGGEST THAT FIND A RECYCLING TRANS SHOP SO THEY CAN MOUNT A REBUILD ONE AND TAKE YOURS IN EXCHANGE SO YOU CAN PAY LE$$

The shifting, including that of the overdrive is computer controlled. It's even possible that the tow/haul feature has been activated through short, or such. The tow/haul function deactivates the overdrive, and raises the pump pressure in the transmission, causing it to shift harder and at different points. You might want to look into these.

switches are problem on those trucks, shift motor on transfer case may also do it, not sure but that truck may have a control module behind kick panel on passenger side auto wreckers best choice for used part

If the drive line & wheel shafts fit I don't see an issue except gear ratios. I've never heard of anyone trying but if u know how to read a micrometer and tape measure you'll figure it out. If you do not, I wouldn't attempt it. Good luck.

the transfer case control module is located behind the left side of dash behind the headlight switch, you will need to remove the speedo trim around speedometer, then pull put the headlight switch. the module is just snaped into place. also keep in mind, the module has to programmed with software for it to work correclty. in other words, the replacement module will have to be programmed after installing
