if the transmission control module checks out and solenoid is clicking in and out that leaves the Torque converter itself

if it is a carby engine then check the settings of the automatcic choke and the throttle cam screw settings it works in a manner so that when you press on the accelerator the automatic choke flips a cam around and the idle speed screw rests on that cam giving a high idle speed until the engine is hot enough not to need a choke at which point the cam is held clear of the idle screw if efi engine run the fault codes to check for problem accelerator position sensor or throttle position sensor.

Is it an automatic choke?, usually when auto electronic or thermal chokes stick, its an expensive hit and miss affair. After taking off intake air cleaner, view the butterfly valve to see its position, if closed or half way when warm, or, open or half way when cold, then an invasive solution may work for you, but firstly check to see if a little machine oil or CRC on the pivot points and linkages. I have myself disconnected the butterflies actuator linkage and wired it fully open permanently, which often means a little extra accelerator pedal pump or two is needed on start up, and and a 5 minute or more extra warm up before driving, (which is better for your engine life anyway). I have also on occasion rigged a manually operated cable to the actuator linkage with a couple of clamps and run it through to the dashboard, but these are options only, and I would not recommend them for every body, but replacing the auto choke system is no guarantee of success either.

You most likely have a vacuum leak not allowing the vacuum operated vent/duct inside your instrument panel to operate. Check all of your rubber vacuum hoses in the engine compartment for leaks, cracks or breaks .

You didn't list any details of what you tested, found, or replaced, if any. The first place that I would start is at the battery and the starter. Look for a blown in-line fuse or fuseable links. These earlier made cars were pretty simple but they were still using some polarized transistor circuits. While you are inside the fuse box (checking for blown fuses), please check for damaged diodes. I don't think your car has any but just in case. If you don't know what they are. Diodes look like a blade fuse but are black and have an arrow on the top of it.
