1983 Blazer with 6.2L diesel.
According to Chilton's manual on page 159 under "Diesel Engine Emissions Controls" A Crankcase Depression Regulator Valve (CDRV) is used to regulate (meter) the flow of crankcase gases back into the engine to be burned. The CDRV is designed to limit vacuum in the crankcase as the gases are drawn from the valve covers through the CDRV and into the intake manifold.
Fresh air enters the engine through the combination filter, check valve, and oil fill cap. The fresh air mixes with blow-by gases and enters both valve covers. The gases pass through a filter installed on the valve covers and are drawn into the connecting tubing.
Intake manifold vacuum acts against a spring loaded diaphragm to control the flow of crankcase gases. Higher intake vacuum levels pull the diaphragm closer to the top of the the outlet tube. This reduces the amount of gases being drawn from the crankcase and decreases the vacuum level in the crankcase. As the intake vacuum decreases, the spring pushes the diaphragm away from the top of the outlet tube allowing more gases to flow to the intake manifold. NOTE: Do not allow any solvent to come in contact with the diaphragm of the CDRV because the diaphragm will fail.
It sounds like your CDR valve has been compromised. Time for a new one or at least a functioning used one.

2000 chevy blazer lift gate
No hole behind the carpet. You need to get to where the striker on the glass meets the latch (at the top, center of the tailgate). The latch release actuator has a broken lever that pushes against the latch to release it. Common problem. There is a screw holding the trim panel near the latch area. You are gonna have to force it loose. You need to pull back the panel at the latch area so you can get a tool (or a finger) down inside next to the latch and manually release it. There is a pivot on the latch you need to push down to release the latch. Once opened, remove the trim panel. You will then see a big silver panel covering the inside of the tailgate panel. You will see the actuator that needs replacing (it's held on with rivets). Drill out the rivets and install bolts if you don't have a rivet tool.
97 chevy blazer rough idling problem? help?
It is hardly ever the spark plug or only the spark plug - generally for some reason there is a weak or lost spark and the reason must be found and rectified by carefully checking and then replacing any components found to be edfective - plug wires, coil, distributor cap, rotor (if fitted), wiring, connections and could conceivably even be the ECU. Perhaps the misfire is due to injector trouble...
Sometimes a fault with persist even after it has been "cured" until the fault code is erased with diagnostic equipment.
I have a 2000 Chevy
You can put a scanner on the car and read the code if any is set. Then repair the code.
My car is 2004 Chevy
Turn the engine over and bring #1 piston to the top of the cylinder then remove the dist. cap and be sure the rotor is pointing to #1 plug wire in the firing order. Turn the oil pump shaft with a screwdriver so you can keep the rotor pointing to #1 in the firing order set the dist. You have to pay close attention when you set the dist to the oil pump shaft or you can get it a half tooth off and car will backfire when you start it. Good luck
