2004 suburban doors randomly lock and unlock while driving
There are two relays that control the locks. One controls locking, the other unlocking. One of those could be defective. Replace one. If that corrects the problemyou are good to go. Do not discard the old relay yet. If the problem persists replace the other existing relay with the old on you just removed. I believe the lock relay actually works through the unlock relay or vice versa.
How to test for dead short
Use a volt meter. set your meter to ohms. put one lead on the wire being tested and a ground point (something metal - frame, engine). If you get a reading of .08 or lower you are good. If higher more than likely problem.

Trip all three rear latches - the ones that are not tripped prevent the release levers from releasing

Try this.Start the vehicle. Rap the instrument cluster several times several times with your hand like you where knocking on a door. If the display reappears or even shows up dimly than the instrument cluster will need to be replaced. Check with your local GM dealer. What is a knock sensor & how do I find it?
It allows the engine to run with the ignition timing as far advanced
as possible. The computer will continue to advance the timing until the
knock sensor detects pinging. At that point the computer retards the
ignition timing just enough for the pinging to stop.
