Just to clarify what you said, if it cranks it turns over.If it won't start, you would check for spark at the plugs and fuel pressure at the rail. Vortec engines need at least 60psi fuel pressure to start. If you have spark you could try spraying carb cleaner into the intake hose to boost the amount of fuel as a test.

the fan you are referring to is inside the trailblazer on the passenger side behind dash near floor wall? If this is the case it is the heater core and needs to be replaced by a professional. If is is under the hood in the engine compartment it is the water pump in need of replacement? thanks good luck on the heater core..

You have to use the codes you get, when check lights comeon, to diagnose the system with the possible fault,been thatway for 30 years
