Dome and Courtesy Lights will not come on when any door is opened

Check and see if the lights come on with the passenger door, if so you have a defective courtesy light switch inside the door.

2007 chevy avalanche wont engage D 1 or 2

prey its electrical but unfortunately sounds like you, my friend have a blown transmission...get it towed to aamco to be sure but thats the exact same thing that happened to one of my cars. $1000 and 30+ hours of my time (after it shipped) later, i had a used transmission, and personally installed it. its often times cheaper than getting the current one fixed. good luck man.

Code p0300 and p0449

I'm assuming you have compression on those two cylinders and you have visually checked to see if the cylinders have spark and injector pulse. The code 449 is for a problem with the evap vent valve solenoid. Is there a vac hose near those cylinders that goes to the vapor canister or the evap solenoid ? Could be a vac leak.

2004avalanche wont take gas

I'm assuming that you mean it is very difficult to fill the gas tank at some gas stations. It often seems like it "kicks" if you look at it cross eyed. It's irritating, and some gas stations seem worse than others. The filler neck takes a sharp bend right by the opening, and reduces dramatically in diameter. Some pumps push out at higher volumes, and other pumps are more sensitive to the back-pressure, causing it to "kick" prematurely. The solution I found was to rotate the nozzle in the tank opening. If you turn it so the handle is at the 5 o'clock position it will sometimes work. Occasionally I've had to hold the nozzle upside down. Or just avoid that station.
