When you replaced the battery there is every chance that you have corrupted the CPU program. Use a code reader to reset the CPU and see if that fixes the problem

YOUR PROBLEM COULD BE THROTTLE CABLE IS BINDING OR OUT OF ADJUSTMENT.YOUR GOVERNOR IS DAMAGE OR MISSING PARTS.YOUR OIL PUMP PRESSURE REGULATOR VALVE OR TV BOOST VALVE STUCK OR DAMAGE NOW .IN THE VALVE BODY.STICKING LINE BIAS VALVE TV LIMIT VALVE MODULATED TV UPSHIFT OR DOWNSHIFT VALVES.OR A STICKING THROTTLE VALVE PLUNGER.STICKING OR STUCK 1 -2 2 -3 3 -4 THROTTLE VALVES OR PRESSURE REGULATOR VALVE.THE SPACER PLATE GASKETS DAMAGE.ALSO THE 2 -4 SERVO ASSEMBLY ACCUMULATOR DAMAGED.THE 2 - 4 BAND BURNED OR ANCHOR PIN NOT ENGAGED.

If its a gas engine its controlled by the engine computer.

I sounds like your power steering pump may be going out or low on fluid.

Sounds very much like a clutch problem

check ignition timing and firing order of the HT leads . There may be moisture in the distributor ignition pack

Blend door not working.

go to a wreckers that specialises in chevy and you should get one.

year of truck?Does gauge jump around or just drop fast after 1/2 tank?

um..... start it up again....or did you have a question?I'm not trying to be rude, or funny, but you just made a statement and didn't ask a question, nor did you say what may have gone on when trying to start it again.

check for air, fuel and spark.

put the rotor on the dist and gently turn it while very slowly lowering the dist back in. You need to make EXTRA sure you don't drop that pump shaft into the block. I trust you have the engine cylinder #1 at TDC and are ready to slap it back together, but if you have more questions on that, let me know.

mine was both a bad wiper switch and wiper motor. when my dash lights acted up, a new HL switch sorted me out fine.

Check coolant temperature sensor....usually on right side of block. Hard to get to,but pull wire and remove,install new..they are les than $20 here..good luck

check fuel filter, pressure and maybe a plugged cat.

If you have a way, check the fuel pressure at the fuel pressure regulator. Sounds like there is no fuel pressure. The injectors are controlled by the computer. Check fuse block for bad injector fuses.
